First time there for dinner New Years Eve. Bar area (small) was packed. Beer (Blue Moon) was served cool but not cold with a very limp Orange slice.
Headed up to second floor dining room when party of 4 others arrived. Server was a pleasant young man who greeted us and was efficient.
One of our party members brought a bottle of Champagne and a wine. Server was asked what the cork charge was, didn’t know, said he would ask. He didn’t disclose until he brought the bill at end of dinner…it was $ 70.00.
Hourderves, Calamari was over cooked (fried), artichoke hearts were perfectly cooked.
Mahi Mahi was tough and over cooked for two dinners (44.00 per meal). New York strip and Rib eye was excellent and cooked properly.
Waiter informed us that they were running out of flatware. (Restaurant dining rooms were 80% occupied). Waiter had to take our flatware to clean and return them for our use.
Nothing about the restaurant was ADA Compliant. It’s a very old building. Stairs to upper dining room lacked proper hand rail with potentially four story fall off the 30 inch high rail.
Restaurant was very loud and required us to “yell talk” throughout the meal.
Extension cord loose at front entrance and presented a trip hazard entering . Cord was presumably for Christmas light on frontage that were not working.
No visible Managment present. Waiter could use additional training. Cork charge was reduced 50% to 35.00 upon our prostation.
Total bill for party of five was $300 plus tip.
Not impressed. I asked for the owner to discuss the concerns Paul and was told he was...
Read moreApproximately two weeks ago, I came with two girlfriends for dinner. It was the worst food experience I have ever had. To begin with the calamari tasted like flour. We sent it back then I got my veal marsala. It looked like slop you would feed maybe to a farm animal. it tasted just as bad. The veal was swimming in a pool of flour water that had no flavor. My two Italian friends also tried it and spit it out. We sent that back then my one girlfriend ordered a bowl of soup I believe it was Minestrone. It came out ice cold, and the flavor was also on edible. That had to be sent back that we called the manager to the table. He offered a cream puff ice cream as a solution, but did not draw any specific attention to the poor quality of the food.
One of my friends ordered the pecan encrusted walleye. This is a dish we often order at other restaurants. Nancy did eat it however, we all taste it out and we couldn’t taste the fish, and it was very hard and somewhat rubbery.
Consequently, I was still hungry and I thought let’s order a pizza at least that should be safe. The pizza was actually pretty good. The rest of the meal was so bad that I think the health department needs to go visit the kitchen and whoever is running the kitchen needs to be replaced.
I also met a woman at the nail salon just a couple day or so ago and she was complaining about the Corrattis in Howell. Her experience was similar to ours, and that she had to send back to items
I have such a bad taste I would never step foot in there again not...
Read moreCoratti's on Main? Recently went Sunday, late afternoon, early evening. Weather nice for springtime. Place was somewhat crowded. Inside? Too much chatter, loud table conversations. Seemed like most patrons somehow thought others wanted to hear or be part of their talk, talk, talk. Wasn't inclined to partake. Went to set outside, which was unavoidably set up too close to the curb, (Main St). The loud on going traffic was unpleasant at best, unappealing at worse. Coupled with people constantly walking their dogs in front on the sidewalk was somewhat, how can I say, unique for a dining experience. First few little pooches coming by seemed cute. But it never stopped, and some dogs were getting bigger. Personally it seemed rude, if not irresponsible for the dog walkers to parade their K9s past and among those of us having eats at the restaurant. Not sure I'd go again, especially on weekend. Bombastic inside, bark-bark out side. And the horrendous traffic noise, including EMS with siren was particularly ear shattering. Again, food wasn't so bad, but the environment was another story. Regretfully in this instance, during our late afternoon Sunday visit I am compelled to seriously consider avoiding Coratti's in the...
