So pleasantly surprised: this is one of the BEST Vietnamese restaurants I've ever had. The workers were efficient and quick, even though they weren't rushing at all to accommodate all of the airport visitors. You could tell they were dedicated to the quality of the food preparation. They were so polite, helpful, and attentive to the growing line. The food was delicious!!! The fries were fresh, the sauce delicious, and the banh mi was so so good. I usually don't get jalapeños but felt the need to try the dish as it was intended to be made. I'm so glad I did. It's just soo good. And the tea I got was so fresh and beautiful; it really hit the spot. They gave me the tea immediately while I was waiting for the food, and it was almost gone when I got it. I'm debating on buying another before my flight. The price was so reasonable too. A whole delicious meal for ~$30 in California??? Incredible. And the packaging was sustainable! Love that. This is also too much food, and I'll have to pack it up for leftovers! I'm really winning here today. Also found a whole lychee and piece of lime in my tea once I finished it, and it was like the cherry on top to eat that thing after that gorgeous teađ They have 2 self-order kiosks and 1 counter space for ordering in person. 10/10 would recommend and go again. Incredible they're in the airport too ** Vanilla lychee tea with boba, lemongrass tofu banh mi, sweet...
Read moreHave not tried the food yet but already disappointed. Horrible service. I have to repeat my order five times. I even have to repeat it after I got the receipt which have the correct item I want on there. I ordered a classic combo and got asked five times if I want combo or lemongrass pork? Which is included in combo. Ridiculous price. 17$ for the cheapest sandwich. Also charged me bag fee without asking me and just tossed my sandwich(cut open) on the counter. I asked for a bag and give me a horrible paper bag without handle. And the grabbed a nice paper bag with handle to another customer? I am now thinking it could be a racial act. Then I asked for the nice bag. She looked at me and asked you want it? And then I confirmed. Then she finally grabbed the nice bag for me and ask my bag back. Then tossed the napkins that I placed in the original bag on the counter again. I have to pick it up and take it in my hand. She then put my sandwich in the nice bag and then tossed it on the counter again. I just can not take it anymore. This service is just the worst one I ever had. Food contamination might happen and just horrible service...
Read moreI stopped by Bun Mee at SFO with high expectations after reading many glowing reviews claiming itâs one of the best and most authentic BĂĄnh MĂŹ spots in San Francisco. While the experience wasnât bad, I have to admit I was a bit underwhelmed.
I ordered the lemongrass pork sandwich, which came with pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, jalapeños, onions, Vietnamese herbs, and garlic mayo on a toasted baguette. The baguette itself was nicely toasted â crispy on the outside and soft inside, which I appreciated.
However, the lemongrass pork lacked the bold, aromatic Vietnamese flavor I was hoping for. It tasted more muted compared to traditional versions Iâve had elsewhere. Itâs a decent option if youâre looking for something quick and convenient at the airport, but in terms of authenticity and flavor, it didnât quite live up to the hype for me.
Still, itâs a solid choice at SFO if youâre craving a Vietnamese-style...
