Don't order or eat here unless you are starving, and you don't have 5 minutes to walk to terminal 2. As others point out- this is the only actual 'sit down' food source in Terminal 1. The tables were full, mostly of people who appeared to have finished eating, but were just hanging out at the tables.
I ordered from the very limited 'To Go' window menu.
Nobody was in line. There wasn't a chef visible in the kitchen, and one employee seemed bored at the register. No 'welcome', no smile, no eye contact. Despite these warning signs, I ordered the Chicken & Waffles ($16 for 2 peices of chicken). I paid, asked for my receipt. I waited near the register- and when the cashier called me- twice- I walked up and she handed me a flimsy paper clamshell.
After walking to my gate area, settling my luggage (balancing on my laptop bag, as there are no tables or surfaces to sit at and eat in terminal 1) I opened the box, and decided how I'd go about eating the contents.
It was not what I ordered- but a pile of shredded meat with some sauce squirted on the top, with a bun crown set aside. The heel of the bun was so soggy and wet, that the sandwich could not be lifted. Only when I was frustrated trying to cut into a soggy, saucy mess ... did I think to myself "who the hell would order this or eat it?" Ding! Wait, so I ordered Chicken and Waffles... I checked my receipt- clearly says Chicken and Waffles.
Bottom line: I wanted to write a review and give one or maybe two stars. After reading all of the other one star reviews, I decided to add to them.
Clearly this place preys upon passengers who either don't know better or are desperate.
How can you screw up the only order for the only person who is at your restaurant?...
Read moreYou’re gonna wanna save your money (and the regrets). Pretty much what you would expect from an airport spot with no competition nearby. Food was uneatable, definitely missing the “soul” as a self proclaimed soul food place. Burger was undercooked and fried chicken was drier than the CA weather. I could probably microwave chicken nuggets and make a better meal than their “chef” here. Absolutely disgusted by the lack of effort in the food in a “world class” airport and will not be returning to this place again. Ain’t no southern comfort here (I live in Texas) The worst $50 ever spent, and I had to get a green juice across to cleanse whatever the F I just ate. Disgusting. Just because there’s a African American in the establishment doesn’t mean it’s black owned (stop being racist). And if it is, then it’s shameful that this is how they chose to rep their culture. I have had so much good soul food in Texas, and this certainly ain’t even come close.
TLDR, make the smarter move and get paninis and a green juice from across the place. Save your money and yourself from...
Read moreSee photos attached. This restaurant is overpriced for what I received. I ordered basic bacon 🥓 and eggs 🍳 with tots. The table runner/waitress named Kelly was excellent. With that said the restaurant doesn’t have jam or jelly for the sourdough toast the only have butter. That’s a minus. How many people do you know put jam or jelly on their toast? I am one of them. They also don’t have any steak sauce or A1 sauce which I like to put on my eggs. They only have Bbq sauce and Buffalo sauce and the Buffalo sauce is like drinking spicy vinegar! Yuck 🤮. So needless to say they need more condiments to choose from with these prices. I am very disappointed with the food and prices of the food. They charged me $4 for two pieces of sourdough toast. You can buy a whole loaf for that much money. Talk about a mark up!! Bottomline the service was great but the food is overpriced and it wasn’t anything monumental. It was a disappointment. I will not come back and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Also, the acoustics are in need of an overhaul. It’s really...
