Rude staff that doesn’t even know to read what an order comes with. My special request was entirely ignored (whatever), but I ordered the Nashville tenders which EXPLICITLY, on the screen, says it comes with dill pickles and Greek yogurt ranch in addition to a side, plus choice of sauces. I got a second ranch and star sauce. I didn’t get my pickles or second ranch, which I turned and asked for. Multiple times, and repeated the ranch to the woman who seemed to only hear just “pickles” every time. After I was handed the pickles, I had to repeat for at least a 3rd time, “and the ranch.” She asked if there was none in my bag, and I told her just one of the two that should have come with my meal. It turned into a whole thing where they tried to tell me it was only the sandwich that came as such, etc. The first woman tried to call me to HER register screen to show me the layout after I said I’d show her on the screen what it says my order comes with, and had to redirect her there. Lo and behold, it says everything I said it did (and I don’t WORK there, serving a daily limited menu.) She then pointed it out to her coworker, obviously now realizing they were wrong, and who kept trying to point to nuggets now (after trying to make it about the sandwich version), which are ALL irrelevant to the situation, because one way or another, they messed up.
The first woman says, frustrated, “I’ll just give you the ranch” and walks off before handing me the (now so stupid) sauce.
Look. When the screen says you get XYZ, you get XYZ. That’s what was paid for. Customer service has become such a third tier in the food business, and it’s disgusting.
This is all after the self-order screen forces you to pay a 5% “SFO Employee Benefits” fee on an already almost $20 order of tenders and slaw, no drink, and THEN ASKS FOR AN ADDITIONAL TIP.
You can’t charge exorbitantly for basic food, then charge a percentage fee FOR employees, and then have a system that asks for a tip starting at 18%. F-ing pay your employees appropriately or don’t run a business you can’t actually manage. They realistically must have plenty of customers being where they are in the airport.
Haven’t even tasted the food yet, but it wouldn’t save them from the asinine service.
Adding: Went to finally try the food now, no utensils included for slaw (perhaps they were on the side, but that was lost to the chaos of my incomplete order) and the pickle container I was handed didn’t even have the lid properly closed - it was...
Read moreThis location is friekin miserable. The staff is clearly overworked and underpaid so they could care less about you. If you order at the self-serve kiosks you have a 50/50 chance of actually getting your food. In one week, on my first visit, I had to wait patiently as I watched 10 other people who ordered after me receive their food first. They didn’t even start my order until I politely asked after waiting where my order was. All I got was a “oh, sorry”. On a second occasion in the same week, because I’m a glutton for punishment, I waited after finishing a kiosk order only for the same thing to happen again. Screw that. I reversed the credit card charge and am never coming back. Look, the food is good, I’d go to a location not at the airport. But under NO circumstances should you stop here unless you have 45min until take off and you’re desperate for chicken. And once you order, you have to go right up to the pick up desk and give evil stares before they pay attention to the order you just put in. Honestly the new Kitava in the terminal is much better quality and healthy food, and...
Read moreThis one was at the airport so no need to worry about parking. I’d say it’s in a good spot. It’s the last food stop before you get to gate 17 for southwest. I’ve never tried Starbird before this was the first. The line was not too long.
I ordered three things on the menu two crispy chicken sandwiches and a tender box. My Starbird sandwich had the super slaw, mayo, avocado. The other sandwich was the free range ranch - tangy slaw, bacon, cheese and Greek yogurt ranch and also for their French fries.
The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. I was surprised the chicken was not greasy and the bread was so soft like French bread. The first bite was amazing. The sandwich was huge so tried to cut it in half, So disappointing because the sandwich fell apart and it was just a big mess. Now I understand why they gave me a set of fork and knife. It was not a pretty site. Still get stars because customer service was ok and so was the food. The price was high but expected because it’s the airport. Not quite a...
