Best souffle pancakes in the Bay area now that Sweethoney doesn't serve them anymore. Don't have to deal with Hanabusa's process/service shenanigans.
Mango is my go-to I keep going back to as I found the chocolate, matcha, and tiramisu ones too sweet, but the salted cheese was the surprise breakout. It tasted just like the "cheese" cream top that comes on boba tea drinks, and the salt really balances the dish which can lean a bit sweet. Kind of like how salt enhances caramel. The boba on it were nice and soft and chewy too, which I guess makes sense since the sister of the owners owned a Quickly. This might be my new go-to flavor when coming here.
I haven't had the drinks since the pancakes are the star here and I can't drink a sweet drink along with a dessert because I would get too sweeted out.
The mochi waffle is not bad either but why would you get that if you can get souffle pancakes? I'd rather save my mochi waffle stomach for...
Read moreVery very very PINK in the store! I do like the decor though. It's not a very big shop. There are 2 small tables and bench along the wall. Ordered the Mango excape ( fresh mango slush), surpreme Okinawa ( dark brown sugar with roasted black milk tea), and a strawberry souffle. Mango excape says that it is fresh mango but there is definitely artificial mango flavor in it. Not sure if there is any real mango in there or not. Its not bad but I would be nice if it was 💯 real mango. Surpreme Okinawa was ok. A bit light on the brown sugar flavor. Strawberry souffle has sliced strawberries and a strawberry cream sauce on top. The sauce doesn't taste like strawberry. Souffle it's self was very fluffy. It was almost like eating a cloud! Ok, I'm exaggerating but you get the point. 4 stars for the souffle and 3 stars...
Read moreI came across Uni Souffle on Yelp and HAD to try it. So, we made a plan and drove to Milbrae specifically to try them out. We ordered the Pink Unicorn tea, which was super good, and another mango/strawberry (Sunset maybe?) tea, that I really enjoyed as well. Now, on to the souffles. They weren't quite what I was expecting, way fluffier, and way more egg-like than I thought they would be. We shared the strawberry and the cookies and cream, and the four of us (2 adults, 2 kids) didn't come close to finishing them. It's a lot. Delicious, but really rich and sweet. We decided we'd go back when we're in the neighborhood to try different flavors of both the teas and souffles. All in all, a fun little adventure for a super...
