First time here and I admit this place was a surprise find. There's a small parking lot and street parking is plentiful. From the outside you would not expect much from this just hoping it would be a few steps above Black Angus. But this place ranks up there with the Alexanders and Ruth Chris without those prices.Staffing here is plentiful and everyone works together and very friendly.
Menu choices are ample but the choices they have they excel in. The bread they serve are some of the best. The crust is crunchy but the inside is soft. Excellent wine selection that pairs well with the meal and nothing outrageously expensive. The escargot appetizers were very good and they also include more bread for you to soak up the juices. I would skip the prawns and seared Ahi. Instead for the the calamari .
There's only one word to describe their meat entree, and that it was perfect. The rib eye had a good char (but not burnt) and medium rare was spot on. They offer two sides but from what I can tell, you can't go wrong with any of them. Their sweet cream corn was nice and their spinach was very good (but it's not a cream spinach like House of Prime Rib). The rice pilaf had a hint of creamy cheese taste but not too overpowering. Fresh vegetables was just that. The prime rib is a must try here. They did bring out a plate where the meat was more on the medium side but they took it back right away and replace it with one that was more to our liking. The horse-radish was another surprise too. The one they have here was a perfect match for the prime rib. The child meal was a good size for...

Have been to this place so many times the past 18 years. They are great supporters of Mills HS athletic events and so frequented this place mainly for that reason.
However, the past 2 years or so, visiting Sixteen Mile House has been absolutely because it's my pleasure dining place. I have enjoyed all their appetizers and dishes, including what's on their Sunday brunch menu. A plus for me and my hubby, is enjoying a sports game with other guests by the bar - not too loud but still lots of fun and informative conversations.
This has also been my cocktails and meet up place for catch-up chats with dear friends and my adult girls. Mainly because they have the best Anejo Margaritas in Northern California for sure, ask Jason to make it for you! Enjoy it with their oysters Rockefeller or grilled asparagus.
And indeed, everyone there, host, servers, owners and bartenders/mixologists are so friendly and amazing.
If you live nearby, walk to Sixteen Mile House enjoy a drink or 2, and have a meal or walk back home reminiscing what a great evening it has been. If you're visiting, don't miss this place. It has a lot of Millbrae history in the heart of...
Read moreI came here once for drinks and the place looked kinda fun, a little old school, and like they'd have a good steak.
I finally went back last night to try the steak and found the whole meal to be absolutely fine but nothing to write home about.
The bread was fine - nothing special, not a popover or anything like that, just your classic sourdough. Served warm. Our tableside salad was also fine. I liked that they made it tableside and let you pick all the ingredients, but it wasn't really chopped or mixed super well. We had anchovies in ours, for example, and when the salad was served the anchovies were all still whole, so you'd get a whole one in one bite and blow you palette with all the salt. My petit filet was served perfectly medium rare, and I enjoyed the peppercorn sauce with it, but the sauce was full of whole peppercorns that destroyed your palette if you bit into them. They were incredibly overpowering. The sauteed spinach was fine, the creamed corn a little runny.
Our server seemed new or nervous or both - he was attentive but definitely stressed out.
Overall, it was fine. I wouldn't run back or go out of my way, but when I'm craving a steak, this will be a...
