I have always loved cafe rio for the taste, quality, portions and friendly staff, so needless to say I was very excited when I moved and realized there was one like 2 blocks away. But this location is so terrible and I've finally had enough. I have been ordering and picking up from here 2 to 3 times per month. and aside from 2 instances it has always been something. Food missing, wrong, or under/over cooked. But the most consistent thing is the rude, apathetic employees! I went inside to pick up my order and proceeded to wait at the counter, I look at the screen and it says my order is ready. I can see it on the rack. But the 5 to go employees and the 2 on the main line all ignore me. They walk by avoiding eye contact. One even comes over to the register to ring up food for herself but ignores me. Then the girl on the main line comes over and tells me to move so she can ring up another customer. I tell her I just need my to go order that's ready and have been waiting for awhile already. She gives me an attitude and said she was busy helping others and took the customers payment before giving me my food. And when I asked for the drink cup I paid for she acted so inconvenienced! Keep in mind when picking up an online order it's only what's the name and number on the order and out the door. It's not more than like a minute of effort at most. Then I sat down to eat at home so find 2 of my sides missing (that I was charged for) and a sweet pork burrito with hardly any pork and mostly undercooked rice. Also, I ordered chips and quac and the quacamole was watery and brown! I will definitely NOT be returning to this location and possibly not any in the future. I've tried contacting customer service but nothing changes. You can see for yourself by reading the reviews. I never leave reviews like this but people have the right to know before they waste their valuable time and money. Best of luck, should you choose to eat here!
*Edit 8/1/2025 Haven't been back here in like 6months, but I had a gift card and it's right down the street from my house so I decided to think positive and give it another shot. I ordered on the app like always, arrived just before the promise time. And was pleasantly surprised when I was immediately greeted with a smile by Johanna. Despite being busy preparing orders she asked my name, said it would be ready shortly and even offered me a drink cup while I waited. My food was ready by the promised time and even better the quality and taste that's been missing at this location was there. I am all for speaking up to warn other consumers of places to avoid. But i also feel acknowledging a good experience is just as important. Thanks again Johanna, you...
Read moreI've wanted to try this new Cafe Rio as it's between a relative and myself. Today 8-10-23 I placed a pick up order online for 6 plates, queso & chips and a tres leche. Paid extra for meat on 5 out of 6 plates. Wow! Were we all very disappointed!!! One of the quesodillas definitely had the extra meat but the other plates barely had ANY meat on them let alone extra. My salad maybe had 3 very tiny bites of meat. Same with the other salads. At first we thought no meat was put on any of them. Then we found a couple small pieces of meat on the others. The burrito was the tiniest burrito I've ever seen from a Cafe Rio. It was maybe the size of a soft taco from Taco Bell. But again thats because there was literally NO meat on it and hardly any rice and beans. Again, let alone extra that was paid for. Was that just a bad mistake to ask and pay for extra? Would they have put even close to the original amount of meat had we not asked for extra or just none at all? The queso was unbelievably thick it wasn't worth eating. The tres leche was so soaked in milk it leaked all over the container and through the paper bag and all over all the plater containers. Were they trying to give extra extra extra milk because they ran out of meat? I don't get it. That was thee worst experience I've ever had with any Cafe Rio. There goes $100 down the drain. I will never return to this location. My husband didn't even want to eat here again because we've had Cafe Rio so much lately but I talked him into it like a fool. Never again. Nope. I thought this could have been a new great location but I'll be more than happy to back track to another location then ever eat here again. Such a...

We had placed four mobile orders, each with a scheduled pickup time of 8:30 PM. We arrived at 8:35 PM, only to find that none of the orders were ready. There were no other customers waiting, and three employees appeared to be standing idly while food sat in containers along the prep line.
The first of our four orders was not ready until 8:45 PM, followed by the next at 8:55 PM, another at 9:00 PM, and the final order not until 9:15 PM—a full 45 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. When I politely asked the employee at the register around 9:10 PM for an update, she dismissed my concern by stating the app was “wrong” and then rudely told me not to “pop off.” I had addressed her respectfully and calmly, simply pointing out that we had been waiting for over 40 minutes. Her unprofessional and disrespectful tone was entirely unwarranted.
To make matters worse, when we returned home, nearly every order was incorrect. Several toppings were missing, items such as chips and salsa were left out, tacos were missing rice, side orders were wrong, and the quesadillas were dry—likely due to having sat out for an extended period.
This experience was completely unacceptable. We opted for mobile ordering for convenience, only to encounter delays, incorrect food, and inappropriate behavior from staff. It would have been faster and more efficient to place the orders in person.
Given the level of disorganization, poor service, and lack of accountability, I will not be returning to this location. I also intend to share this experience with others to ensure they are aware of the unacceptable standards at...
