Good coffee, excellent no-bake chocolate cookies, friendly staff, but not a great offering for gluten-free folks. The gluten-free items I've tried have been dry, and when I mentioned something to the young lady behind the counter, she told me that all gluten-free baked goods are dry. I informed her that that was not the case and they do not have to be. There are other bakeries in the area that offer gluten-free baked goods that are not dry. Cole's in North Spokane is one, and Sweet Frostings does well, too. The quiche I've had both times at Rocket (which was not gluten free) has been fairly bland and disappointing. I cheated and tried a bite of the crust and that wasn't buttery as I was expecting... or hoping? Make me want to cheat! Another disappointment is that they do not have sugar free sauces for coffee. Sugar-free syrups for coffee have a horrible tang and after taste to them that is just nasty. And I would expect a coffee house of this size to offer the better-tasting sauces. Much smaller coffee houses do offer those, in fact the little drive-thrus even have them in a lot of cases. I know a lot of people are absolutely in love with Rocket. And maybe those folks don't have food allergies, and that's great, but for me, I really would like to give Rocket more stars,...
Read moreThere are so many bakeries and coffee shops out there—but this one is one in a million. From the second we walked in, the barista (Christine) greeted us with a big smile and was so friendly. It felt almost like meeting an old friend who was really excited to see you again. There are tons of fresh baked goods the owners make themselves (wow!) and the coffee is roasted by the owners too. There’s also tons of seating. We got bagels and Christine whipped them up quickly for us, while simultaneously taking care of other customers’ orders and greeting people in line and taking their orders. We were there for an hour and the place was hopping. She was so cheerful and caring towards each customer that came in—even the rude and demanding ones (which isn’t easy!). This is a great place with good coffee and plenty of delicious baked goods—but experiencing this outstanding customer service makes it shine above all the others. We’d love to stop by again next time we’re out here! Christine, you should win an award for most cheerful barista in...
Read moreI've been going to the Rocket Bakery for years, and I'll continue to go once in a while because it's in my neighborhood and I like seeing people like my neighbors, but I feel like I need to finally speak up. Today, I had someone at my office call to order a stack of $10 giftcards, which I hand out as gifts at my business. The person who took the call told us she only had 3 giftcards and that we'd have to call the Rocket Station. When we called the station, they told us they wouldn't load the giftcards until we got there. There customer service is a complete letdown! When I go in, they have the unhappiest barristas I've ever seen, and they're typically understaffed. This is probably why they're so unhappy looking and stressed. Anyways, I'm hoping this review will help them realize that this horrible customer service is negatively impacting their business. I won't be buying any more giftcards or sending our customers there until...
