This place is amazing for quality flavors.
If you've seen my reviews of Chinese food places around Alph area, I have not liked any of them. Now I have found my place!
We ordered... Mongolian Beef KungPao chicken Chicken Lo Mein General Tsao chicken Chicken Fried Rice Spring Rolls
I give 5+ (or more) out of 5 for everything except for the Fried rice and the spring rolls..
For the good side.... The Mong beef, kungpao, lo mein and general Tsao... the flavors were AMAZING... and the portion of veggie to meat was great ...although I thought the Mongolian beef had too many onions.. but my wife loved it.. and it didn't detract from us enjoying it..
They allowed me to order KungPao w/o veggies!... first place I've every met outside of LA, Cali that would... and he asked if i wanted peanuts... yes, please! Yes, I've better KP overseas because of the way the chicken is cut/cooked, but this is hands-down the best KP-chick I've had in the alpharetta area..
ok, on the downside... the spring rolls were too doughy.. the flavor was good but the dough wasn't rolled thin enough.. did we eat them all? absolutely! :) Second, the fried rice was a hot mess... see the pic's.. literally, why can't any place around here make a decent fried rice ... it is so easy... if this place had thrown in an egg or two and some soy, it would have been acceptable... but alas.... nope :(
All that said...I will go back here for my Chinese food even though I have to drive 20 minutes... its the best flavors I've found yet.. ...and no, I don't want to use 3rd party delivery after all the sketch people I saw...
Read moreIf I could rate with fewer stars, I would! I'm obsessed with giving - and getting - customer service. It's not unusual for me to stop in the middle of a service/transaction and leave if there's substandard service. I'm not sure why I gave China Restaurant a pass. Perhaps it's this pandemic. Or how toxic things seem to have become. But I wanted to extend kindness and mercy to one of the rudest crudest persons I've ever encountered in a service industry. I was so taken aback by the offensive attitude that I was afraid to eat the food. Especially when I had to return the order because it obviously didn't belong to me. No apology. No humility. No indication that they accepted ownership of their error. Just a "Ten minutes", which I learned translated into they would have my order prepared in ten minutes. Although I waited the additional ten minutes, the way she slammed it on the table to present it to me, I just placed it in the trash. Now I wish I would have just left it on the table and turned and exited. I'm not saying those raving reviews are fake, but I am giving them the...
Read moreUpdate : Looking back at my review I wonder how many people think it's just Google bot propaganda, but I personally wanted to share this. It's a new year, and I counted how many times I've come here over 2024... wow, 28 times. More than twice a month I personally made sure I could wiggle funds around to get this food, and kept my new years eve tradition. Cannot recommend enough, as a genuine person who hopes everyone tries at least once.
It's a small restaurant and doesn't come across as fancy, sure, but what it lacks in the atmosphere is made up with the genuinely great taste of take out style Chinese food. Ive tried over 10 different Chinese restaurants after moving to Georgia and none of them hold a candle. This is a favorite we come back to all the time, and writing this review has me craving their general Tso's chicken again... guess i know my dinner choice tonight.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Get a combination meal to try your favorite dish with an egg roll and fried rice, and you'll have a good idea why no other place compares. Never judge the restaurant...
