I'm a sous chef in Nashville so I have a fairly good idea about how things in a restaurant and kitchen work. My wife and I are in town for a few days and went with her parents and our 3 month old daughter to Old Blind Dog for dinner tonight. We informed our server that my wife could not have dairy because our daughter who is breastfeeding has a milk protein allergy. The manager brought out their bread packaging and showed us that it did not contain dairy. "Great" she's on top of it. When our food came out my wife began to eat her sandwich and realized that the bread had been toasted in butter. Once we asked our server about this he said that he was sorry and has another one being made already. "Umm too late dude". I was pissed. I met the manager half way to the table. All she could say was tell me how busy she was and how she couldn't guard the kitchen and check everything that was going on and then had the nerve to tell me, "well we can't get it out of her system so what can I do to make it better." I informed her she couldn't and that it's pretty pathetic that this even happened. Now we have to deal with a baby who's food is laced with something she's allergic to. We will not be going back. Stay away from OBD if you have an allergy. Or you might leave in an ambulance. What little food I did eat wasn't...
Read moreBeen here many times and always enjoyed food and staff. However, this evening with my family was a bust due to the rude waitress and the poor service we received. After waiting almost 35 minutes for our food and everyone with empty glasses, my usual meal of corned beef and cabbage arrived dry and cold. It had obviously been sitting in the kitchen for some time. After explaining that my meal was cold/dry and not up to usual standards, our waitress Nicole asked if I wanted her to microwave my meal. What??? You’re asking if I want a $22 meal with meat that’s already dry microwaved? Since everyone had almost finished their meals, I kindly asked for something which wouldn’t take too long to prepare. She glared at me and and said Shepard’s pie. I agreed and she abruptly walked away without saying anything else. 20 minutes later (without asking if anyone else needed anything) she brought my Shepard’s pie and walked away. My wife had to call her back over to order more beers for the table. The Shepard’s pie was delicious as was everyone else’s meal, but the poor service put a damper on the mood at our table. I’ve eaten here probably 20 times over the past 2 years and this is the worst experience I’ve ever had. Nicole needs to find another line of work or get some customer...
Read moreIt's been several years since I ate here, so I was excited to be invited to meet a friend for dinner last week. I was not disappointed. The food was as delicious as I recalled and our waitress was wonderful! The atmosphere is unlike any other "pub" I've visited in the area and the set up stays true to it's Irish roots, complete with private booths (called "snugs"), if you want a bit more privacy. It was the first time my friend has eaten here and we both were very happy that it lived up to my expectations (and memory). We will definitely be back again.
Update to my last review: Still have only good things to say about Olde Blind Dog! Came back last week with 2 friends and everyone enjoyed the food. This time I had the Short Rib Quesadilla with the Guinness Onion Soup. Both were delicious, however I cannot stress enough how incredibly DELICIOUS the soup was! The BEST onion soup I have ever had! It was awesome! One of my dining companions had the Bangers and Mash and the other chose the grilled Grouper Sandwich, which was a special that evening. No complaints from either one. We ended the evening sharing the Bailey's Cheesecake, which I was so excited about that I forgot to take a photo - enough said. ;) It was a fun night with good food and...
