After waiting ONE HOUR to get our food after ordering, paying and tipping 25%, this is what we got. My father in law never got his food. I’m writing this review 1.5 hrs after we placed the order. Everyone at the table got food after an hour and 10 mins. 1.5 hours later my father in law still hadn’t eaten. We ordered beignets soon after placing our original order. 1.5 hours later still no beignets! I don’t know how this place is in business if this is how it’s ran.
Food: check the pictures! My husband and I ordered Smoked Salmon Lox which is supposed to have cream cheese…almost no cream cheese. My daughters’ grilled cheeses were barely warm and the cheese was barely melted. The coffee was good. My latte was delicious and thank goodness I got a to go cup, do not get a mug here cause you never know how your mug is handled! The servers were nice. But unsanitary. While waiting to order, we saw the barista making a coffee. She spilled a little bit and wiped the counter with a towel then used the same towel to wipe the mug all around including the rim. This drink was taken to a customer! The towel used was already dirty with coffee prior to wiping the counter. The counter was wiped and THEN the mug where someone will drink from… really gross!
I wouldn’t come back here. The excuse given for waiting one hour for food that was not exactly as described “we’re busy and everybody is waiting an hour too”. Great thank you. Can this be told to the customer when they are ordering? That would be nice. Also, there were several tables that ordered after us that got their food. I was told it all depends on what you order, we ordered grilled cheeses for my girls… level of difficulty in making this is minimal. The salmon lox didn’t even have cream cheese so really…...
Read moreAs a Level 7 Google Local Guide with over 20 million photo views, I’ve visited plenty of coffee spots—and The Nest Cafe is a standout.
The coffee is excellent—rich, smooth, and brewed by baristas who really know their stuff. They were able to break down the flavor notes and make solid recommendations. Definitely worth the drive.
The vibe is modern and fresh with a new urban energy. The space is very clean, full of natural light, and has a layout that invites creativity and conversation. Whether you’re looking to write, plan, or meet up for a business chat, this place sets the perfect tone. There's also plenty of comfortable outdoor seating, including covered areas.
The location is another win—it’s in a walkable, newer development with good parking and room to stretch your legs. While I’m not personally in need of accessibility features, I noticed the space appears handicap accessible, which is great for those who might need it.
They serve much more than just coffee—with a menu that includes smoothies, paninis, salads, wraps, croissant sandwiches, soups, a children’s menu, and a solid selection of breakfast items. I tried the tuna salad, and it was easily one of the best I’ve had at any restaurant—fresh, flavorful, and served on a bed of lettuce (just a heads-up for anyone expecting a sandwich).
The men’s restroom was spacious and overall clean, though on the day I went, it could’ve used a quick touch-up. My only suggestion is to consider adding a changing table in the men’s room for parents with little ones.
When I’m in the area, I’ll definitely be stopping in again. Great coffee, great food, great atmosphere....
Read moreThe Nest Cafe in Milton/Crabapple is a quaint cafe with a great ambiance, and I see why so many people like it. It has excellent outdoor seating, it’s spotless, and the coffee is great. In addition, all of the staff was tremendously helpful and courteous.
Overall, their food was fine, but based on everything else, my expectations would be that the food was fresh and delicious. The baked goods seem to all be freshly baked and are fantastic; however, some of the other stuff was lacking.
We had the blueberry waffle lollys. They tasted like they were mass-produced, frozen, then heated up in the oven. They were good but lacked that fresh taste. We also had the southern style and California croissants. The croissants were fantastic, but everything else was lacking. The bacon was baked and not crispy. The eggs might have been freshly cooked but were overdone and not traditionally scrambled; they were more like a lightly cooked omelet. The chicken in the southern was the same chicken patty from my high school cafeteria (frozen and reheated). I would not recommend it to anyone that likes chicken.
Again, all of the bakery items were fantastic, and I think they lacked a traditional chef to make the brunch menu items appropriately.
So, in summary: great coffee, great baked good, but I wouldn’t order any of the brunch sandwiches with high expectations. Again, the food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great, either.
I’ll be back to try...
