Consumer BEWARE...I was there on Saturday October 26, 2024 with a friend. We each had a couple of drinks and of course started a tab. When the bill came I saw it would cost me less to pay cash. My bill was $35.20 and I ended up leaving $42.00 CASH with the receipt. The bar tender came over, took the cash and the receipt and said thank you have a good night. WELL, the following Monday 10/28, I see a pending charge on my bank statement for $35.20. I immediately called my credit union to dispute it because I paid cash and it was also all of the cash I had me plus $2 that my friend gave me so I could at least give a little bit better tip. I also called the bar that same day and reported and was told they would look into it. Long story short, either it was never looked into or they did not comply with the dispute from the credit union because I received a notification from the credit union that the the charge was being put back on my debit card. The County Gym has no received $77.20 of my money for what should have been a $35.20 bar tab, but actually less than that since I paid CASH. Yes I am at fault for not asking for a receipt, but they were super busy and the bartenders did not stick around very long to ask questions or anything else. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN PAYING CASH AT THIS BAR. I HOPE WHOEVER ENJOYED THEIR EXTRA LARGE NOT...
Read moreThis is a tough one to rate. As a former restaurant manager, I feel compelled to leave constructive criticism.
The good: Our main server was great, she routinely assisted the kitchen with the food despite clearly not having BOH experience. The chicken quesadilla was good, as were the hot wings. The burger wrap, well was a whole burger wrapped like a crunch wrap, lol. Which to be fair, I didn’t specify wanting it chopped up.
The bad: there was only one cook in the kitchen, and he was badly badly drowning. The aforementioned burger wrap took about 90 minutes…. With 3 tables up stairs and one group downstairs. (Mind you it was in between lunch and dinner, so a slimmer staff is often the case for economic reasons). But whomever put this one person alone in the kitchen should not be a manager/owner. 2 hours for this type of food, in a dead restaurant, is an absolute embarrassment. Those should have been 10-15 minute ticket times. I have never been so close to actually offering to take over the kitchen, lol.
*we liked the establishment btw, but the atmosphere was ruined by the stressed staff, hearing the cook cuss and threatening to...
Read moreI have been nothing but incredibly polite to the waitresses, staff members and attendants to this bar. Never once did I cause issues or was my disturbance specified when asked. All they stated was that they had to cut me off, to which I was completely understanding and respected their decision. I was not disruptive, combative or anything of the sort. I live one block away from the bar and I had three staff members demand my vehicle's keys even though I expressed no intention to drive and even agreed with my friend to take an Über. Just to note, I am typing this out at the same level of sobriety I was two hours ago when they cut me off. I am 32 years old and a member of Law Enforcement. Never in my life have I been treated so infantile. I am deeply appauled, humiliated and disinfranchised. I'm sure the intentions of the staff members was well intentioned, but after 11 years of attending bars, I know what is beyond the pale. And that was certainly...
