Clementines Tavern — Restaurant in Milwaukee

We were checking out our new Bayview neighborhood, and I was told Clementine’s was a great bar by someone I met at their other place, Red Maple. Clementines is very different from Red Maple. Red Maple is a hip mixology corner bar. Clementines is a Milwaukee tavern with no aspirations. There’s nothing wrong with that, but the good time is based on the bartender’s personality and the people sitting near you at the bar. Our bartender was very warm, but didn’t engage. The dude next to me was talkative, and we had a cool conversation about Poland. Unfortunately, my spouse on the other side of me couldn't hear a thing because of the noise, the machines of chance, etc. I had a good time, but she didn't. We visited Clementines for the first time today because we have an "old fashioned passport" and it was one of the places in it closest to home. We pulled up to a pretty typical looking neighborhood bar. Inside it was a comfortable size with a large oval bar in the middle. With multiple TV on different walls showing different movies. We were greeted right away by the bartender, Megan. She made two fabulous Old Fashioneds (one sweet brandy and one sour bourbon). Megan as well as the other customers we're all very friendly. We also tried the Northeast Cider Donut cider which is dangerously good! As well as playing bar dice for the first time (for me). And I saw many other great looking drinks prepared while we hung out. What an absolutely adorable little gem of a place! Love everything about it! Great drinks, VERY kind and friendly staff, awesome music playing and the atmosphere is such a vibe! Love how it somehow manages to feel like a friendly neighborhood tavern and a hip wine/craft beer spot all at once! The walls are filled with lovely, lovely art from local artists to look at (and purchase!) which just adds to the warm, inviting environment (and I support any place that supports their local artists community)! The other clientele were all very chill and welcoming. This place looks super cute from the outside (what caused us to go in in the first place) and absolutely followed through with an all-around fantastic experience!
