Family friendly (dogs and kids) and a great place to relax, unwind and have fun. The playground is great for kids, the short walk down to the river is a fun way to see nature and watch anyone fishing, the live music always adds to the fun atmosphere (not only polka-type now), the beer and food choices are classic biergarten, long picnic style tables make it perfect for groups or sharing, bathrooms make it convenient, and if you bring your furry friend you can take your beer into the nearby dog park as long as you return the glass when you're done. There is a lot of wide open space here, which makes it perfect for parties and get togethers. Service is generally quick, although be prepared for longer lines on nicer days. They've recently added two "ipads" for digital ordering, so paying with a card is now your only option. NO CASH. There a few beer gardens in the area, but this one continues to be a favorite for our family. It's a great place to celebrate the start of summer and make new...
Read moreThis is the most authentic German Beer Garden in the Milwaukee area, it really makes you feel like you are in Munich at the English Garden with the river and the waterfall. The Hofbrau beer served there and Usinger’s Sausages are true German staples. They also have live music at times so you can hear some good old fashion polkas while enjoying great beer, great food and great company. If you have a group on the weekends I recommended reserving a table it is well worth it, and make an afternoon out of it! What is nice is you can also bring in your own food as well so create a spread, you can even carry in non alcoholic beverages. They charge a $5 refundable deposit for steins but feel free to bring your own and they will fill those, a good trick is go to a thrift store and get a few that way when you continue to return you are always...

There really isn't a lot of 'atmosphere' at this beer garden (like the lake at South Shore terrace or the wooded area at Hubbard Park), but very nice just the same. Beer was delicious and we were on our way. Lot's of other things to do in the park as well like frisbee golf, picnicking, fishing etc.... ...
