Garden District Kitchen and Bar — Restaurant in Milwaukee

My husband and I had quite possibly the worst dining experience at this restaurant. The service was unfathomable - slow, rude, unhelpful and wildly unacceptable. There was one female server with short dark hair in her 50s who had zero urgency despite every seat at the bar and almost every table being full. Keep in mind you place your order on an app at your table so she isn't even taking orders. She forgot my drink twice and after 30 mins I walked up to the bar for it (it was just a glass of water). My husband never received his $20 burger and after checking on it with her and the two bartenders (who were also unhelpful) over a 45 minute period we had to leave for our flight. Keep in mind that several other parties arrived after us, received their food, finished their meals and left and we were still waiting. I asked for a refund on the burger because we needed to get going and not only was she not apologetic and barely made eye contact with me, she said there was nothing she could do and we needed to wait for a manager. I asked how long that would take and she said, "I don't know" and walked away. After waiting another for 15 mins for a manager who never showed up, we needed to leave. I can not believe this place of business has such a terrible staff. They all acted like they didn't want to be there, could care less about the patrons or the service they were providing aka doing their job. I have been a server and have worked several jobs in the food industry and have never in my life seen anything like this. I sincerely hope that this feedback reaches the appropriate parties and the staff working on Sunday evening 7/25/23 is reassigned to another job that is not client facing and does not require any urgency, people skills or care for others because that is all that they...

Don't even waste your time with this airport restaurant and I say this as a former Milwaukee resident and someone who has worked in Milwaukee restaurants/food service.

My elderly mother and I sat down for lunch before our flight and ended up waiting 20-30 MINUTES for our food. Our server was Adeline. When we tried to bring to her attention how long we had been waiting and that our flight was boarding soon, she didn't bother to stop at our table to address our concerns and said it would be a couple more minutes. We ordered a burger & fries and chicken tenders & fries. An order that should not take very long to cook. The restaurant was not that busy. She did not stop by to check on and update us during the time we were waiting.

Another customer sat down shortly after us right next to our table and ordered chicken tenders and fries and got his food much sooner, I wish we would have had the same server.

We finally received our food 10 minutes before our flight was set to board and had to rush to eat. Adeline was a terrible server. I understand they serve a lot of people, but she doesn't seem to care at all about guests and her job responsibilities as a server. She should have checked in before so much time had elapsed. An overnight trip turned into a disaster after leaving this place. I was in Milwaukee on a business trip and as I was leaving I stopped here to grab a burger. It was around 12:00 pm my flight was leaving at 2:41 pm. The burger was dry but I loaded it with condiments. By 3:00 am I’m on my cold bathroom floor convulsing and dripping in sweat begging my husband to call 911. OMG! I just knew I was dying the pain was intense felt like I was being stabbed over and over again by Freddy Krueger.
