Where do I start? Even though I didn't dine-in, the atmosphere is absolutely a vibe in which to do so. Beautiful rhythmic music and lots of natural light with lots of comfortably distanced seating. There was a young man waiting on a couple that stated that they were unfamiliar with the cuisine when I walked in. He was extremely patient and helpful - customer service was on point. I didn't get to experience everything that I came in for, but certainly enjoyed what I did have. The Hibiscus tea was amazing, I finished it before I made it home! It had the perfect amount of ginger and cinnamon for my liking. Vegetable sambusas were flakey and filled with just th right amount of filling. Filling was seasoned well and was a good consistency. Since they didn't have pepper soup I tried the beef and chicken egusi. The flavors were wonderful and the meats were moist and tender. Although the egusi was spicy, it wasn't as spicy as I expected it to be. They didn't have jolof rice so I ended up going with the pilau. The pilau was delicious and just a tad spicy (extremely spicy if your tolerance is 0). Curry goat was moist and tender, had nice flavor and not in any way spicy. Chicken peanut stew was moist and tender as well. Never had fufu before so not really sure what it's "supposed" to feel and taste like, but it wasn't bad, I would have it again just because I liked it not because of what it is "supposed" to be. All in all I would ( and definitely am going to) return to Immy's. Hopefully, I will get to try the cassava ( Immy's was the only place I found that serves them) chicken, pepper soup, bajia...
Read moreOk.... 2nd visit. I'm very familiar with African cuisine, but with the lack of restaurants serving in our city, I've been missing the divine flavors. Not anymore. Staff is kind and helpful, even willing to fulfill a curiosity or two as you make your selection. I have a dietary issue, and the clerk was a kindred spirit and I am even more prone to stop in here more than other places now. The only problem i had between the two visits is my fufu!! I prepare it at home, so 5 bucks is pretty expensive to me for one serving, but the portions are usually adequate. I forgive them. It was freshly made and there wasn't a whole supply there as usual. Then when my supply ran out I understood!! Wow fufu got reaaaally expensive in the interim. BUT the food is a MUST! Vegetarian options, and all kinds of deliciousness await. If you are curious or tired of the usual put it on your list and stop through..... Aug 2025 - been stopping through and have loyalty points now lbvs. Beautiful energies and warm interactions and delicious food. I like to get the opportunity to taste and then say “oh this!” and “definitely that, yes that too!” I came on a Monday craving bad only to see they were closed lol I teared up a...
Read moreI ordered through a delivery service the night before but never got my delivery. I'm leaving a good review to hopefully negate any negatives that may have been placed on their restaurants Uber account as an effect of me not knowing how to submit a claim through Uber. I submited it stating the items were missing, when I was trying to just submit a claim for it not arriving, the food cost were refunded, but the tip was not suggesting to me the restaurant was being held at fault. Regardless they're customer service before the driver picked up my order was in point, I've never had a restaurant call me about items they're out of and offer me a replacement(which would've cost more) it's ususally the drivers or they just show up without what I wanted. I was really hoping to try the food, I'm going to make a trip to the restaurant myself to pick up an order. The food was ready the moment they called me, which was seconds after I ordered. They were just waiting on my tea.
Im disappointed, because I don't want the resurant to think I scammed them or anything...
