Thai-A-Kitchen in Milwaukee - A Hidden Gem for Authentic Thai Food
If you’re looking for some of the best Thai food in Milwaukee, you need to check out Thai-A-Kitchen. Their food is consistently amazing, and my personal favorite is the yellow curry chicken — it’s rich, flavorful, and packed with tender chicken and perfectly cooked potatoes. Everything I’ve tried from their menu has been fresh, well-seasoned, and authentic, making it one of my go-to spots for Thai takeout.
That being said, I have to mention the lack of a dine-in experience, which is the only reason I’d give a lower rating for atmosphere. I remember years ago when Thai-A-Kitchen had dine-in seating, and it was such a vibe — cozy, casual, and welcoming. Unfortunately, after COVID and staffing challenges, they made the tough decision to switch to carry-out only, and that part of the experience has been missed ever since.
Even though there’s no dine-in option anymore, the carry-out service is super fast and efficient. I highly recommend calling ahead to place your order, especially if you’re not already in the area. Most orders — even larger family meals — are ready in about 10-15 minutes, which is impressive for the quality of the food.
If you want authentic Thai cuisine in Milwaukee, with fast carry-out service and unbeatable flavors, Thai-A-Kitchen is a must-try. Whether you’re craving curry, pad thai, or spring rolls, you’ll walk away happy — even if you have to eat it at home instead of in their...
Read more5 stars: Wonderful food! They also have wonderful customer service. One waitress reminded us of the "Adventurous Warning" where if you ordered something on your own and didn't like it, there's no undo button. My friend ordered a dish with a spice level of 2 and realized she didnt understand their spice level well. There was no undo button. Ask about their spice level before making your decision. They have a spice level of 0-5, where 0 is no spice and 5 is xtreme spice. I haven't and will never try a 5 dish, so no opinion there.
Edit 1 star: They greeted us and set us a table. We've come here often and this time it was busy. So when the waiter left us with our water, we were prepared to wait for a little while, since we did asked for more time to look at the menu, because we wanted to try new food on the menu. We asked for a couple more minutes and they gave us an hour. An hour of waiting to put our order in so we can get our food. We waited and waited. People came and sat beside us, behind us, in front of us. They all got served, except us. After that hour wait, we left. I'm sorry, but we were hungry and very disappointed. 1 star for the wonderful water.
Edit: 4 Stars: Okay, I can't take it. I love their food regardless of how unprofessional they sometimes can be. Thanks for the awesome...
Read moreMy son and his girlfriend introduced me to this place. Walking by on my own I don’t know if I would of given this restaurant a second thought but with someone’s recommendation I will try anything once and I’m glad do because the food at Thai A Kitchen is delicious. It’s a small place with maybe 16 tables, a small counter to pick up or order takeout and a big window in front to look out onto the street scene. Our waiter was friendly and welcoming, warning us about a small wait as they had a few takeout orders in front of us. We ordered spring rolls and crispy squid for the table as apps. The apps came out fast, hot and tasty and after the waiter gave what felt like the perfect amount of time for us to enjoy them he brought out our entrees. I had the drunken noodles, my son another noodle dish and his girlfriend had a curry. Everything tasted really nice, great flavors. The spice scale was 1-4. I enjoyed a 2 on the scale and the kids got 3’s. I was told the 4 was painfully delicious for those who are into that. Then time for the bill 2-apps 3-entree and soda came to $42. Overall the company was good, the food was really good and I left with leftovers feeling like I got a...
