Jackson's Soul Food Redefined — Restaurant in Milwaukee

I love supporting new businesses, especially black owned businesses and I looked forward to trying Milwaukee’s up ‘N coming Jackson’s Soul Food!

I visited their Center Street location 1st one time & I wasn’t quite sold. I ordered smothered pork chops, greens & candied yams. Honestly, the pork chops weren’t bad but I’ve certainly had better!!! Greens tasted can’ish & they could have done a lil better w/ the Mac. W/ that I decided to give them another opportunity to win me over!!!

Happy to learn of their new location opening. I thought to myself, “How awesome is this!”

So I was in the area & placed my order……. Let me tell you how DISAPPOINTED I was!!! The pork chops wasn’t actually smothered, but fried w/ white gravy spreaded on top! They wasn’t sooo bad (probably because I love fried foods because they weren’t seasoned) I ordered Mac n cheese which was quite dry & I COULDNT BELIEVE the black eyed peas my mouth watered for was Straight up COLD‼️. I LITERALLY COUlDNT BELIEVE it‼️. Money WASTED‼️.

To JACKSONS the key to success is CONSISTENCY & AUTHENTICITY……

This is a NEW location & ALREADY food ISNT hot & not authentic‼️

& That was my LAST monies too. I felt VIOLATED & DISRESPECTED…….

I have door dashed several times for this restaurant, thinking ok it's busy so 😕 it must be GOOD! well here we go, the the music 🎶🎵 was so loud 📢📢 she kept sayinging the wrong items I was saying, so I had to repeat my order😕 then for the 4 piece catfish combo you can't get black eyed peas and greens you can only do this with a 2 piece catfish (thought I was at JJ'S)🙄, so by this being my FIRST TIME here I guess I was taking to long she tapped on the counter several times as if I was taking a super long time while rolling her eyes 👀👀, but of course then she FINALLY turned down the usually loud music 🎶🎵🙄, by that time I had grabbed my phone and left! I really don't appreciate someone TAPPING ON THE COUNTER LIKE I WAS TAKING TO LONG! well, guess I'll eat on the SOUTH SIDE! I guess this is a spot for young people and there family members, that music was so loud I thought I was at...

What I ordered isn't what I received. I tried calling the restaurant and no one answered. I ordered the 2pc. Pork chop dinner and the 2pc. Catfish dinner. The sides I ordered were greens, yams and macaroni and cheese. I received macaroni and cheese and green beans. Prior to writing this review I had only eaten the pork chop dinner and they were very salty as well as the green beans. The salt was so heavy it ruined my appetite to complete the pork chop meal and I didn't even attempt to try the Catfish dinner. I'm totally disappointed AND WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!
