Throughout the years since we started coming in 2018 everything was perfect! I’ve never had a problem or altercation with any club of fans who go watch soccer games, or other customers, it wasn’t up until Legion Wisconsin started attending. I held off on this review for a long time, but it was long overdue. It feels extremely uncomfortable being here watching a game while there’s a club of fans screaming and offending people around who are rivals. It’s a difference in joking around with a friend who’s rooting for the rival team, but they seem to just want to shame on everyone whether they know them or not. It’s upsetting not being able to feel comfortable watching a game where there are rivals of the opposite team you go for. Almost 2 weeks ago our friends went to watch chivas vs america game saturday night. That night, some chivas members seemed to argue with the bartender who was rooting for the rival team. It seemed that some people in that club were being friendly with her and talking about the game, until a couple decided to join and verbally disrespect her. Plenty of us standing around overheard everything. Which is extremely concerning how they got away with it! The bartender ended up having to leave, and the people who started the argument with her got to stay. Shame on you highbury! I understand business is business, but betraying loyal customers and employees for a club of fans is a shame. We overheard the fan club spreading false rumors which we clearly knew were false because a lot of us were around the situation to know what actually happened. Around a week ago a friend found a review from the girlfriend of one of the Wisconsin Legion members leaving a fake review because she was denied to go behind the bar to play her music. This was fake review and her being mad trying to ruin the bartenders job because it was simply over not being allowed to play her own music playlist. It seems as if this club has had a personal problem and purposely tries to find a way to get the bartender removed while they’re there or removed overall. This is really concerning as an owner for this acceptable behavior from customers. As adults trying to ruin someone’s job/income based off a preference of a soccer team is so embarrassing and for the owner to side with that is disgraceful. A bar is supposed to be for adults, not a place for rumors to be spread and drama started by adults as if this was High School. It seems like this owner chooses and picks. There’s been several customers who’ve complained of certain bartenders who still have the same disgusting behavior as always and constantly giving the worst customer service and nothing has yet to be done. Some sunday nights when we try to attend, it’s filled with people being loud and roudy, going behind the bar to play their own music, laying on the seats, screaming for each other across the bar. Also seemed to notice sometimes theres underage people consuming alcohol. Disappointed in how highbury has turned in the last year. This review was long overdue but after all, it only felt right to do so now. To the bartender who worked that saturday night know we will always have her back and love her bartending nights, hope to see you soon !! I’m not sure who runs this place but favoritism shows and it’s pathetic. I hope the owner/s really figures out a way to turn their back to how it once was...
Read moreFutbol/Soccer Pub through and through with some of the most amazing people and best atmosphere. Big Arsenal supporter and had stumbled upon this pub due to a recommendation from a friend 5 years ago. I do not live in the Milwaukee area and come from Beloit, WI which is about an hour away so this soccer bar had to be better than the ones in Chicago or Madison areas due to the same proximity to me. Since the first day I arrived for an Arsenal Match I've seen the great atmosphere for any futbol/soccer fan as well as the welcoming atmosphere from everyone there. Joe is the best host to have and plenty of fellow friends to be made no matter if you are not supporting the same team. Needless to say my wife is not a fan of waking up in the early hours some weekends to watch a game but it is beyond worth it to be surrounded by friendly people that all love the sport. While the bar is small, the noise/atmosphere can outdo any of the larger bars in the city without a doubt. Along with this, Joe and other fellow fans will at times collectively bring food or treats for those early 6am games. While I am not regularly there every weekend, I do visit often enough that I know the atmosphere is always great no matter the day. If you happen to be visiting in the area looking for something that has a great soccer atmosphere then come to this pub. Along with this, there are multiple coffee and great food spots around if you don't care to eat there pizza.
FYI: If you don't know the Arsenal chants/songs, don't worry because if you are there often enough then you'll start to know...

As I sit at the bar, resting my knees on the red cushioned edging, I can’t help but reflect (dealing with Man City’s sunrise highlighter kit). I choose every weekend to come to this pub to watch a team that my brother raved about. I appreciated the skill and technicality I watched week to week, along with the company I kept. There was no fan organization or club, but I felt a sense of belonging learning the chants and rants by experience. I decided this was the place that I wanted to adopt as my own beyond just spending time with my brother. Times remembered and times forgotten, I met the love of my life at this pub. We are now a house divided of supporter groups, but it has never divided our allegiance with the Highbury. We have family here. Coming to the Highbury is our release, enjoyment, and exclamation...
