My husband and I went on a small date at this restaurant. Remind you there was only the two of us. We ordered 3 entrée only and a drink. The food came out within 20 minutes. We had no problem with that. The food was good like usual. We ate and got ready to leave. I went to the restroom while my husband paid. We didn't tio becuase not once did the waiters refill our water or even ask if we need anything. It was a Sunday afternoon not a lot of customers that day too. As I was in the bathroom my husband texted me he will be outside waiting. I got out the bathroom and as I was about to walk out. The waiters, she yelled out at me " wait! Wait!" I turned back and she said to come back to the table we were eating. She said I FORGOT TO TIP!. I SAID "oh sorry I'm choosing not to tip today". She then said " oh why? Was I not nice?" I was like wth is she talking about. I replied " no it's not that i just don't want to tip today. The waiters kept asking why and was trying to make a scene. I told her again I'm just don't want to today. Plus every other time when I come her with my family of 4+ I always tip 20% although the gratuity was already added. Then she had the audacity to say " then did you want me to add the %18 gratuity on to the receip?" That's when I got mad! It was just me and my husband why in the world is she going to add gratuity just because I didn't tip her the way she wanted. At this point she got even louder and even called me a mean person! I just apologize and said as a customer I have the right to tip or not it wasn't on her. She kept calling me mean foe not tipping. So that's when I just turned and left the restaurant. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO VIENTINE NOODLE SHOP AFTER THIS DUMB TIPPING SITUATION ⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ If anyone plans to go there, please make sure you tip or they will make a sense and not allow you to leave until you tip their waiters. NOTE: She did the same thing to another couple in the restaurant when we were still...
Read moreSo we use to go here ever since I was a kid. Well we recently went and had a terrible experience. The person who waited on us was upset and bothered about our questions about the menu. Mind you we haven’t gone in years so things have changed. To start with the sides to go inside the pho before we would each get one, not to split, the pho was watered down and had so much broth a not enough noodles inside. Before they use to give lettuce and he was like “no lettuce” walked alway with an attitude. We asked general questions about the menu and a cup of water for my daughter. Well time to pay my mother had left a cash tip on the table under the plate he comes back with the recite saying we need to leave a tip that we asked for to many things and to many questions. My mom didn’t fully understand what he was saying and said we are not leaving tip on the card we have no more cash. My mom asked to speak with the owners daughter and his response was “that’s your friend not mine”. He started raising his voice to my mom. I told my mom to leave it and start walking with my daughter to the door. This was just a few rude things he was saying. My mother did not once raise her voice nor did I. I took back what tip my mother left under the plate that was over 20% and only left a few dollars. I told him she didn’t understand him and that his money was on the table and the way he acted was rude and just not right. As a waiter you do not demand a tip regardless of your pay. If you don’t like it get a new job. I have always tipped based on service and if you have a bad attitude and roll your eyes I’m sorry but that is just bad service. It’s so sad this place was part of my child hood we celebrated the owners birthday with him when it was just them. I had so many fond memories here. And it just isn’t the same anymore 😞 I wish them all the best, but I will never...
Read moreFood isn't how it used to be. I used to come here for pad si ew. I always told people for years this was hands down best place for pad si ew. Parking sucks here and i live half an hr away, so once in a couple years I stop by. I finally decided to stop by and ordered 4 pad si ew to go. The cashier looked busy because he was waiting on us, diners, and phone. I should had checked my food earlier at the restaurant or in my car (I didn't because I assumed my order would be correct and didn't want a mess in the car). After driving 30 minutes home I opened my order to see they gave me pad thai instead of pad si ew. I'm not a fan of pad thai and would had let it go but I ordered it specifically so my friends can try the "best pad si ew". I called them to let them know as I wanted to get pad si ew. I told the cashier as he was only one working up front. He remembered me and said he thought I said pad thai. He even got me questioning myself. My husband who was there confirmed he heard me say pad si ew. I'm thinking cashier was busy and though I said pad thai because that's a more popular dish. He told me to hang on. I heard him tell the cooks and the cooks biitching bout it..I didn't understand them, only heard pad thai n pad si ew. I drove 30 minutes back...TWO hrs wasted of driving. They had me EXCHANGE the dishes, didn't apologize, and did nothing for their mistake after knowing I drove 30 min there, 30 min back, 30 min there again bc of their mistake, and 30 min back because of their mistake. It's covid, so I was shocked they took my pad thai back! They probably gave it to someone who ordered it. The other disappointment is their pad si ew is no longer as good as it used to be. I could had made it myself, literally. It was all a big...
