Carbone's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Minneapolis

I ordered one large pizza with half cheese and half green olive. I ordered it thin crust and asked for it to be well done so that it was crispy. I also ordered a small pizza also thin crust also well done. I received a large pizza that was not well done, half had cheese, but no sauce and the other half had olives, but no cheese. It’s was also completed smooched. The small pizza was original crust, not thin and also not crispy (but thankfully it has sauce and cheese at least!)

I called immediately to let the staff now and see if they could fix it, but they told me that no one was around and nothing could be done that night and a manager would call me back by 8 PM or the following morning. After two days with not hearing from anybody, I called and asked for a manager at an earlier time hoping to catch someone before they got busy. I talked to someone named Brian who said that he was not a manager and that there was not a manager available. He apologize for the experience, but offered to do nothing to fix it. He promised that a manager would call and when I asked when to expect a call back, he said he couldn’t answer. Evidently the manager’s name is Bill and no one knows when he will come in to help with things like this.

It seems no one is really in charge there to provide oversight or fix situations like this. I wouldn’t feel comfortable ordering from them again given this experience. This is unfortunate because in the past I have had excellent food from Carbone’s at other locations, but this location seems to be under poor management or no management at all.

I ended up making a second, very late meal for my family and assume I will not get a refund or a call back at all...

If your looking for good pizza, you might want to skip this location.

Had a friend pick up pizza and pizza fries her way over. We love Carbone's but rarely get it. The Edina location was on her way, and since we'd never been there before we decided to give it a shot.

The pizza was well done on top yet soggy and limp on the bottom. The crust was so thin it just flopped limp and hung there when you grabbed a piece. I know it's supposed to be thin crust, but this was paper thin.

Even the pizza fries were thin and limp, though they were white on top and the bottom, not brown at all on top. I wonder if the oven is not working properly or something.

The toppings on the pizza were sparse too, a two topping should have quite a bit more on it than it.

I know Carbone's pizza, it's one of the best, maybe THE best. Been eating at the original 7th st Saint Paul location since I was a wee babe. This was a poor excuse for pizza and I likely will not be going there again.

I usually like to give places a second chance, but I order Carbone's so rarely that I'd hate to waste another visit on pizza that...

It has the best pizza west of the river but tonight was a Friday night...busy night for pizza. I used the app to order my pizza and salad and arrived at the time it said it would be ready. I went inside and paid for it and the girl and the register said it would be 15 minutes more after I paid of course. I went back out to my car and waiting since there is not a lot of room to wait. I went in again after 15 min...ask for my number for my order and still not done..they checked on it..it hadn't even been put into the oven! What? What is going on here...I almost cancelled the order and had them refund my credit card and went some where else to pick up dinner for my family. I WAITED ANOTHER 20 MINUTES...THIS TIME STANDING IN THEIR SMALL AREA...Thinking that might speed things along...wow....not at all...I FINALLY got my pizza and salad...got home and REALLY...wrong salad dressing. I guess I've learned my lesson..dont order pizza on Friday night...and number two check your order...
