I was looking for another coffee shop close-by but stumbled upon this one instead. What a fabulous surprise! The space is so beautiful you can't ignore it from the road. I was immediately drawn in by the name. Virginia is my home state and the state flower and tree is a Dogwood. I'm also that person that takes my dog everywhere. The aesthetics immediately drew me in and the pleasant staff and coffee made me want to stay. One of the baristas saw me taking me a picture of my drink and offered me a paper umbrella to make it more IG worthy. Way to be intuitive and just AWESOME! I ordered a coconut cold brew topped with a banana cold foam, lovingly referred to as "Beach, Please!" I think there was a little crack of salt on it, too. It was so good I couldn't stop telling everyone at work about it. As I was ordering, the person behind the counter noticed me looking at the kouign-amann in the pastry cabinet. I'm not a fan of sweets but he assured me it wasn't too sweet and he was right! It was amazing. Another perfect example of the staff just being awesome. It's too bad my assignment in MN is ending because I probably would've come here every day had I known about it sooner.

I looooveee this cafe!!! The staff are absolutely incredible and create the best experience! Special shoutout to Andrew and Zach for being so nice and welcoming! I love coming here and chilling out in their lobby. They have a tonnn of seating, but it still gets super busy and filled up! The only thing that I don't like is how busy this place is, but it makes sense given how great every aspect of it is!!! Super lovely vibes and the drinks are even better. There's a ton of options on their menu for you to choose from and if you have any questions, the staff is super helpful with accommodations! I love their apple cider and I wish they had it 24/7! Super delicious. They also have a ton of parking which is great because Minneapolis is known for being difficult with that. I absolutely love the vibes of this place and definitely will be coming back all the time.

I love Dogwood's coffee, but I am very disappointed in their service. To summarize, I had 20 minutes to run in, grab some beans and an espresso. I did not receive my drink within 20 minutes and had to leave without my drink. I reached out to dogwood through their email explaining my situation and got no response.

Details: I had about 20 minutes to kill and figured I had time to run in, get some beans, an espresso, and be on my way. I walked in, grabbed my beans and was third in line. I figured 20 minutes is plenty of time to get my espresso. The cashier was chatting with the current customer and it took about 5 minutes for that one customer to get their order placed. Cashiers were changed, and the customer in front of me and myself got our orders placed in a minute or two. Just under 15 minutes should be plenty of time to get my espresso right? Apparently not. Turns out a group ordered before I arrived so there were several drinks that had to be made first. Normally, this is fine and I have no issue. However, in the roughly 15 minutes I had left, a total of 3 drinks were served, not counting the one hot chocolate that went to the customer who took 5+ minutes to order. I try to be understanding of an order queue, but 15 minutes for 3 drinks is not acceptable. The main barista making beverages seemed more interested in watching customers than making drinks. There was a noticeable line of already poured shots waiting to be made into drinks. I decided to leave without my espresso since I did not want to be late to my event.

I reached out to Dogwood to explain my situation to see if they could help. I never received a response from Dogwood. I was very disappointed in Dogwoods customer service. I believed they would remedy the situation, but I never received any acknowledgement or anything.

They make great coffee, but I cannot stand behind...

What a gem! Huge coffee and drink menu with lots of seasonal and local specialties, food on weekdays and bakery goods every day - including gluten free options!! They also have alternate milks at NO UPCHARGE! I had a delicious seasonal earl grey latte and one of the gluten free donuts. The person who took my order at the counter was very knowledgeable and patient as I struggled through giving the order for multiple people, and she even let me know which drinks would be ready before others.

There’s a lot of varied seating inside, tables of 4, booths of 2 with ambient lighting, as well as a few huddles of couches and chairs scattered throughout. I was on a couch myself and it was surprisingly supportive and comfortable. There’s outlets everywhere and free WiFi, so would be perfect for working on a laptop. There’s also an outdoor patio for warm weather and a spacious parking lot with free parking. There’s both steps and a ramp to get in and there’s some counter top seating both for high top and wheelchair level seating. Plus there’s a separate room with a glass window where you can play or watch someone play table tennis/ping pong.

It was packed when we went with some kind of group there as well as a bunch of individuals and smaller groups. We were able to find seating but I’m glad we got there when we did (10a on a Saturday).

I picked up a drink punchcard as I plan to be back! This may be my new favorite local place!!

Caveat: I would not recommend it for anyone with auditory or visual sensory sensitivities as it’s one large open space with plenty of noise and people...

Second time I have been here. Was recommended to me by Mr. Tire, when my van was getting worked on. Said it was quieter than the other coffee shop in the area, and the seat backs were tall so you had a little more privacy.

I came here this time because I needed (a lot of) uninterrupted time to get personal business done. I didn't totally pitch a tent and take away business by using up a whole table! I was a good patron & purchased ~1.5 items an hour. Not including my husband coming to meet me for one of those hours and him buying his own coffee.

Ambiance: It was busy, dropped off to nothing, then super busy! Then, the overhead music that was at a maximum to where it wasn't -yet- annoying- was turned up even -LOUDER- and all those people had to start yelling at each other! Was officially too distracting- even with earbuds in and my podcast going- I had to pack it in. Maybe that's just the late afternoon - mid-week crowd?

Food: Pre-made ham sandwich was delicious!! Chai was delightfully not too sweet! Coffee is ALWAYS a great experience. I even got a pretty design in my foam! Pastries were WOEFULLY low- and completely tapped out 1/2 way into my relatively productive visit.

Will certainly come back, but with better headphones, and BEFORE all their amazing...
