Overall I had an amazing first experience here. My favorite part is that their kitchen is open late!! finding a full kitchen open until 12 is darn near non-existent post covid so major brownie points there.
immediately upon walking in I was hit with the amazing smell of their pit, my mouth immediately began to water. The atmosphere was your standard old-school feel bbq joint, it was clean and inviting.
I ordered the Ribs and shrimp combo with a side Caesar and a side of their Pulled Pork.
-The ribs - super tasty and moist. No added nonsense just meat and seasonings. They are definitely not your average fall off the bone ribs (which is their intention) but not really my style. They were kinda dense - somewhat hard to get all the meat off them but all in all tasty
-Cajun shrimp - These are plain butterflied shrimp loaded with some cajun seasonings, although tasty they were pretty dry even doused in lemon juice and dipped in butter. I assumed these would be saucy like with and old bay type sauce or something but they completely dry honestly the price of them is quite exorbitant. not sure what warrants $7 for a single shrimp but definitely not worth the hype imo. BIG shrimp guy and I was just underwhelmed.
Caesar Salad - One of my biggest pet peeves is a place that serves a Caesar salad with spring mix lettuce. All the pieces come separate, dressing on the side, croutons on the side all in little sauce cups, like i was taking it to go. by design a caesar should be romaine lettuce tossed in dressing and then served. not to mention it tasted like it was just Ken's caesar dressing. I dont expect much from a BBQ place salad but all in all disappointing nevertheless.
Pulled pork - This was decent, but for how aromatic the place was and how the ribs were prepared the PP felt pretty lackluster- not much flavor except for the sauce they use - Now the sweet BBQ they use on this is different but super good - its super sweet, which I like, but did kind of throw my palette off. but if i do go back id try this again as a sandwhich without the sweet sauce
The side of fries really isn't worth even mentioning...
-Their house sauce is super good - robust and full of flavor. definitely does not taste store bought. as a BBQ sauce connoisseur this one does hit.
And in terms of pricing I paid $60 for the rib/shrimp plate, plus the sides. I didn't get charged for my drink which was a plus but still felt quite overpriced.
All in all this place was good! My standards are high when it comes to BBQ and i'd definitely choose this place over Famous Dave's but not a 5-star spot in my opinion. Still worth a visit if you haven't been and I will sure be back to try some of the...

This is the precise reason this place will never be considered anything more than mediocre, they can't take criticism. I could be a 5 star chef for all you know. And you're blatantly ignoring a customer's input. I see the same comments on your reviews from many other customers. But I won't hold my breath for them to come around!
Let me say the service was excellent. With that being said, the food was surprisingly disappointing and expensive for what you get. I paid nearly $70 for one person for something that was akin to a cafeteria meal. The fries were not seasoned well and were the kind you find in a hospital lunch room. The ribs were tough, unseasoned, and lacked flavor. The mac and cheese tasted like it was frozen and then microwaved and made by Hungry Man. It was noodles with bland cheese sauce and not a pinch of salt. The toast tasted like lightly buttered Wonderbread. The fried chicken also lacked flavor. No spices were used (or at least we couldn’t taste them). The coleslaw was very runny. The cornbread was over baked, had dense spots that wouldn’t break apart, and so dry it just fell apart. Seemed like it had been sitting out all day.
I wanted to give this honest feedback hoping they make some changes. Unfortunately I won’t be returning. My waitress was...
Read moreMarket was really cool to be at. It definitely has the old-school vibe going on, and we learned that all the decor, including the ceiling tile, was painstakingly moved from the previous location. I'm definitely romantic about history, so that felt neat, as well as the signed black-and-white portraits all over the walls.
The food was good. I was a big fan of their dusted pork rinds, and I'm a big fan to a fault of chicharrón so my rec is a big deal on those (I guess?).
The brisket was lovely, tender with a good smoke to it. I prefer Texas-style, but this isn't that so 5/5 on the brisket. Good job.
Ribs were very flavorful, but I feel they might have been overcooked at too high a temperature for too long, rather than a low slow smoke. I love smoked meat and do a lot of it myself, and these ribs were DELICIOUS but dry and too chewy. I make my own ribs with a bite and chew, "falling off the bone" is too tender. These made me feel like I had to work hard to get meat off the bone. 3/5 on the ribs.
Sides were delicious though. Coleslaw was the best I've ever had, honestly, and the fries were PERFECT. Sauces come in hot and regular, and as a fan of spicy food the hot was awesome, plenty of long-lasting heat with a great overall flavor.
Good job Market, delicious food overall. I'm not sure if the ribs were tougher because we got their early (around 4:30PM on a weekday) but that's my...
