We hosted our wedding reception at The Copper Hen this past summer and I truly cannot imagine doing it anywhere else after the incredible experience we had! We spent a lot of time finding the perfect venue that struck the balance between intimate, but not overly crowded. The Copper Hen was perfect for our 75 guest wedding. To start, the pricing is excellent. There truly are no hidden fees when they share the pricing with you. We actually ended up getting credits back to use toward upgraded alcohol and food because we had less than $100 people. In the wedding industry, it often feels a bit predatory with pricing and this was such a breath of fresh air! Marisa and her team were so flexible, kind, and supportive. We were able to craft our very own menu which was really important to us. The sky was truly the limit. Marisa and her team went above and beyond in everything they did... I wanted a lilac cocktail representing my home state flower and she and her team handpicked them from a garden to create their own homemade simple syrup. The space itself is beautiful- you could add as much or as little decor as you wanted and it still would have great ambiance. The staff was so great during the wedding itself. Food was delivered quickly, portions were huge, and our guests RAVED about it. Drinks were made quickly and really well- just an all around excellent job executing the event. The team was able to quickly transform our sit down dinner into a massive dance floor/dance party. I was anxious about how this would happen, but on the day of, I truly did not even notice it happened so fast! The late night snack and cake that was included in the price was a huge hit with guests as well! I truly cannot recommend Copper Hen enough- we love them so much we will be throwing our baby shower there next month. If you are looking for lovely, honest, fantastic people to help you create a perfect event I couldn't recommend them more! (Photos by Marit Williams Photography)

The bed of Slaw was the most delicious item ordered today. The Staff was more than accommodating. This visit reminded me of Dave Chappelle's bit about eating at a White Friend's home and him anticipating it NOT being delicious. In this case, STOVE TOP STUFFING was NO WHERE TO BE FOUND!!! The drinks SUCKED!!! - Long Island was a first time discovery - Blueberry Mule tasted like Blueberry cough syrup - Tap water was delicious, I even opened it over the remnants of Long Island to get that experience out of my mind - Steak was smothered in a Red Manhattan sauce that I'll take the blame for but the Steak was under-cooked (bleeding, eventhough I asked for WELL-DONE!!!) - Pork Belly appetizer was decent but how do you mess up Bacon? Oh yeah, too much cranberry spread!!! But the bed of Slaw that the pork belly was served on was DELICIOUS!!! One WIN!!! I'm tired of being critical. Cute vibe on the arena. The aesthetic was cool. Just don't eat the food with and expectations of it being of being delicious. I will come back and give the Short Ribs a try (how can you mess up Pork?) One person, $100 later, Google, you owe me some money on my Google Pay account!!! Coley

My wife and I went around 445pm on a Saturday for an early dinner. We found a parking spot about a block away and came into a fairly empty restaurant. The waitress was nice, knowledgeable. The environment is warm, refreshing and relaxing. It wasn’t too bright but not too dim. The mixture of artwork and industrialism was nicely balanced. The menu is selective but being a kitchen and cakery, you can’t expect a full out menu like a regular chain restaurant. We started with the ravioli appetizer which was very rich and tasty, a must have! Then we had the Lamb pizza and the Scallops. The flavor of the pizza was fantastic! I am a hungry dude and I had to take a half of slice home! I was very satisfied with the quality and quantity of my meal. My wife’s scallops were pretty good. They were smaller than the menu makes them seem but with the purée, chicken skin and radishes, it balanced things off. For that price, we both feel like you could get more (quantity) of good. The taste and quality was awesome, on the rich tasting side! We had their cupcakes as well and loved them! Very rich but very tasty! This is a must try location! Swing on by!!

I AM NEVER GOING BACK!!! Overall overpriced for what you get, nothing special.

Although the food was okay and the environment was upbeat my overall service was worthy of less than ZERO STARS. From the moment I arrived to the moment it was time to leave my server and experience was awful. First I called in a reservation, after spelling out my full name clearly and providing my phone number I arrived and the reservation was non existent. Fine, no big deal there was no wait so we were sat. Then the server took about 10 mins to ask if we wanted anything to drink, although we did have water fine again no big deal. We order coffee and she drops the coffee off and its luke warm. It wasn't even warm. Normally I would have just mentioned it, but we then didn't see our server for another 10 mins, by then your just poorly sipping on $3.75 brew coffee. and let me tell you it was bitter and was not worth 3.75. Bitter coffee is the result of coffee sitting too long in conjunction with not rinsing out the coffee urn. That is basic coffee 101 if your going to try and sell me $3.75 brew coffee. If I'm paying 99 cents for coffee fine it can be crap, but $3.75 for crap no way. So now its been about 20mins and we are sipping on bitter OVER PRICED brew coffee. Now don't get me wrong I'm fine with paying $3.75 for coffee but that was awful. Anyway finally she takes our order and says would you like the bernaise sauce on top. We say not on top the side. Now this point not everyone would agree with me, but if something is an upsale, as a server you should mention it. It may be on the menu but if I looked at the menu 20 mins ago, you should mention its extra cost. But I digress and again whatever. After taking our order we waiting another 20 mins, when another person at the table had to yell for waiter just to get the drink order they put through. Then our table received refills of hot coffee this time, so I finally had a cup of hot coffee and now I can really say that brew was not worth $3.75.

It took forever to get our food, we get our food and learn all the eggs are over easy light, now I really enjoy that but not everyone at the table on their own plates did, also it never said that on the menu. Typically as a server you ask how would you like your eggs. Over easy light is not for everyone. My SERVER then never came back, never ask how the food was nothing. At that point we are just like what is her deal, she has an ATTITUDE and rolls her eyes whenever we tried to get her attention. I was DONE!

We asked for our bill she said she would be right back it took her 10 mins to get our bill, we look up and she's cleaning lights. Not getting our bill. We paid, still left her a tip, but left with such a bad experience. Yes the food was good coffee was bad, and I love Coffee!!! This place = terrible service.

The service was SLOW, POOR and it was not because it was packed we sat down and there were empty seats around. There a lot of other places that have practically the same food better prices and much better service.

I am never going back.Overall overpriced for what you get,...

Missing the mark across the board. From service to food quality, the experience was mediocre at best and this was for a special occasion. I'd not return. Two in our group got the pork belly skillet. One large piece of pork belly on each skillet that was so chewy as to be like gnawing on a thick piece of jerky. One dish came with the pickled peppers, the other did not. The potatoes made up the majority of the meal and all that really is is "filler". I had the crepe, and like the pork belly skillets, it was supposed to have caramelized onions. All 3 of our dishes had cooked onions - nowhere near being caramelized. The mornay sauce on the crepe was think and almost clumpy and way too much of it so that the crepe was lost in the sauce. Another had the biscuit and gravy with added fried chicken. The chicken was pretty good, and without it, the dish was a congealed mess of gravy on a biscuit. We also ordered a few bottomless mimosas which are simply not served in an inviting way. One glass to start with, and no question on juice (either what kind of how much). We did get refills brought to the table, but the request for less juice just seemed to be ignored. The Gaelic coffee which includes whiskey and whip cream, was served in too small of a glass, was barely Lukewarm and overly sweet. I would have preferred to have more coffee in my coffee. For regular coffee, it was served in old looking mugs with crack lines running through it. Just really disappointing considering the accolades the restaurant is supposed to have for its food and the ingredients promised on the menu. Our server was pretty ok, but I had the feeling he wanted to be offended or upset when we asked about a few things. Like when we had to track him down to get another mimosa after only the first glass being served. Also, when we asked if the one missing meal was still coming after everyone else had received their meal. Just seemed ready with defensive answers leaving us to try to explain that we were simply asking, and not upset in the least. If the meals had lived up to their promised ingredients and been served more appealingly, the experience would have been night and day. If we felt the server was receptive to us and not assuming we were upset about things, and been more open, we could have accepted more about the food being not perfect. But, both of these together made for a not great special...
