Such a cool place!!!! Great food, awesome waitstaff, excellent farm to table ethos, and a very cozy/cool space. I've only been here once as it was directly across the street from my airbnb, and I was apartment hunting. I have to say Tiny Diner was a chill respite from the anxiety of my apartment search. Beyond the chill atmosphere and the good food, there was something else that made my visit there especially good. That something was someone. Her name is Leore. She was amazing, not to mention very beautiful too. I watched as this place filled up and it was all maintained by one person, Leore. She did an exceptional job of keeping everyone inside this place happy. It got busier and busier the longer I stayed and she made sure that she kept up with everyone inside (clearly not an easy task as their name is a bit of a misnomer here, it's not exactly tiny). Their menu has a lot to offer and I want to come back and try more of their food. My one and only complaint is the rude kitchen staff. When I arrived there wasn't anyone at the front and I asked them in Spanish if I could sit down, they very coldly replied "sit wherever" and turned back to their tasks. They also rang their bell loudly and multiple times every time they had a plate at the pass, that's just rude and cold to do to your waitstaff, they should have more class. But, just ignore this little blip. Focus on the really good stuff here- Leore, awesome food, and the chill space. I can't wait to...

I hadn't been here in quite a few years, and it was sadly a mediocre experience this time at my recent late brunch experience (1:30 on 5/7). There were open patio tables, which was great because we had a four top with a puppy. Service was...ok. Not bad, definitely kind, but slow. I think we may have arrived just after a big rush, so we were understanding. Cocktails took over 10 minutes though, bit of a wait. Once we finally got to put or order in, the server informed us the burrito and tacos were sold out, which two people in our party ordered since we weren't informed ahead of time. No biggie, they went with the huevos rancheros instead. I ordered the veggie hash, almost specifically because it had broccoli in it. Upon arrival, no broccoli, the most miniscule amount of carrots, peppers, and onions, and a sloppy, oily bowl of undercooked hash browns. Hardly any crisp. I asked our server, once they checked in with us, if they were also out of broccoli and if so that I could just have my meal discounted $2 since that's what they charged for most of their add ons. They ended up giving me $5 off which I really appreciated. Friends commented that the huevos were pretty bland, but they mostly finished their plates. Overall, I love the concept of this place, it's a beautiful spot, hoping it was just an off day and that the quality is actually...

Is this place closing imminently? Just had the most disappointing restaurant experience anywhere in a while. And just about everyone else dining there seemed to be disappointed too.

There was only one person waiting tables when we arrived for dinner. Ok you’re under-staffed and food’s taking a while but waiting was acceptable to us.

The food did take a while but it was not the right order, a gluten free bun was ordered and not served. NOT good for someone with an allergy. Is it so hard to indicate a gluten free bun? Toothpick in the top? The mistake was brought to attention and by the time the order was fixed, the other person was done with their food.

The food was rushed and not good either. The bun was dry and probably stale. The burger was overdone and dry. The lettuce on it was pathetic, the kind of stuff you leave behind on your plate if it was in a salad. They have the option to pay for “locally sourced lettuce” for $2.50 which is comically ridiculous. The returned order also came without the Cajun fries I opted for and no pickle either.

Furthermore they were out of probably 3/4ths of their beers. This is either abysmal management or the place is closing soon. Even if you’re closing though, you might as well close yesterday if you’re not going to give your customers the respect of a good meal when they’re paying good...

This was the “Aperol Spritz.” It tasted like a mimosa. We asked if there was orange juice in it, our server said “that’s how we make it.” I brought up that Aperol is red and this was very pale orange. Server offered to bring a shot of Aperol, definitely made it closer to a normal and much closer to the color. That said, the “orange” listed on the menu for this cocktail is pretty misleading if it’s “orange juice.” Behind the orange drink is the “Hibiscus Refresher.” The menu lists hibiscus-infused vodka, soda, lime. I’m quite sure this was just the wild berry hibiscus iced tea - there was no lime and it was served in a glass bigger than the water glass. Food came out promptly, was decent. Just really disappointed in $20+ of the worst alcohol service in recent memory. No need to contact me, just please do a retrain on brunch cocktails.

Happened across this restaurant while staying in Minneapolis recently, and can't say enough good things about it. The food was delicious and the portions were big enough that I couldn't actually finish my meals when we ate here, the staff were very friendly, service was quick, and the lavender lemonade is to die for. I especially appreciate their efforts to be a zero waste and sustainable restaurant (even their straws are compost-able), and they have a large amount of vegetarian options on their menu. You can even take a walk through their beautiful garden - which surrounds the lovely patio - and look at all of their veggies growing. My boyfriend and I will be back here any time we come down to visit Minneapolis.

Extremely mid tier food, service, and atmosphere (at least inside). I think I read that the ingredients were locally sourced, which is great. The inside was riddled with bugs, including one dead fella on the table beside us. Half the time we sat there just trying to swat flies away. The outdoor area seemed a bit more lively, I’d opt for it if I were to redo this visit The best item we tried were the hashbrowns - very crispy all around and quite delicious. Unfortunately, the burger, pancakes, fries, toast, eggs, and sausage were all just decent. The server was nice, but rarely checked in, and the place adds a 5% “service charge” to all checks. We will not be returning.
