WATCH OUT! Why You Should Steer Clear of Wendy's in Minot, North Dakota!
As a Food-Lover and Business Reviewer, it is with a heavy heart and a duty of care to my community that I write this distressing experience of our recent visit to the Wendy's located in Minot, North Dakota. It is rare that I find myself compelled to write a negative review; however, the horrible nature of our experience at this establishment leaves me no choice but to advise both locals and travelers to avoid this location at all costs.
Date of Visit: Between 1:50pm - 2:15pm on May 7, 2024
Here are the reasons why this Wendy's falls dramatically short of acceptable standards: Unresponsive Drive-Thru Service: My initial attempt to order through the drive-thru was met with silence—no greeting or acknowledgment even after several minutes of waiting. This forced us to park and enter the establishment, which only led to further disappointment.
Dangerous Cleanliness Standards: The floor inside was slick with grease—a hazardous condition that was not marked by any warning signs. This carelessness not only disregards basic safety protocols but also demonstrates a lack of concern for customer well-being.
Discourteous Staff: Upon entering, we were greeted not with smiles but with an impatient crewmember. The cashier repeatedly rushed us through our order, reciting costs in a manner that suggested our presence was an inconvenience rather than an opportunity for service.
Questionable Employee Conduct: We witnessed an employee, who entered without any uniform or indication of personal hygiene, engaging in inappropriate behavior including sharing and hitting a vape over a food preparation areas. This is not only ILLEGAL but also deeply concerning from a food safety perspective.
Unprofessionalism (Caution): Customers overheard conversations about a staff member avoiding law enforcement due to outstanding warrants. This does not belong in any professional setting, much less one that involves food service.
Poor Customer Service: Staff refuses to offer standard menu items like the chocolate Frosty and instead suggesting customers to "deal with" what was available. Which shows a lack of respect for customer preference and satisfaction.
Lack of Supplies and Accountability: Essential supplies (utensils) were not stocked, and requests for basic items like drink carriers were denied. Discussions about frequent refunds being issued were handled carelessly within earshot of customers, suggesting a regular disregard for customer satisfaction.
Absent Leadership: The absence of any visible management or attempts to correct these numerous issues suggests a lack of effective leadership and oversight at this location.
A Reputation that is Dying: It is clear from this visit that the standards once held by this Wendy's have severely dropped, leaving behind a shell of what used to be a reputable establishment within the community.
Urgent Need for Corporate Intervention: If Wendy’s values its reputation and its role within the community, immediate action is necessary. This should start with a thorough investigation by corporate into the practices at this location.
My final thoughts - it pains me to report that the Wendy's in Minot, North Dakota currently operates in terrible contrast to the values and quality one might expect from such a restaurant chain.
Until emergency improvements are made, I urge all potential customers to consider alternative restaurant/dining options. For those responsible for this franchise: it is a vital importance that you address these failings with the urgency...
Read moreWould give a 0 stsr rating if it allowed!! Customer service and happiness are not a priority. I ordered online only to get there and they were out of 4 items I ordered (3choc frosty and a bacon cheese potato) they acted as if their lack of items was my problem. I understand things run out, but they were not willing to refund it they acted as if i should just order more food we didnt want in place of it just to make up for their shortage. They asked if I wanted the peppermint frosty I declined due to the fact my family does not like the peppermint flavor (why we ordered chocolate in the first place!) They told me to request a refund on the app. I notified them I ordered online as I did not have the app. So I thought of what could be substituted in place of said items. I told them on one to just give my daughter a sprite. I personally am not a fan of the fries but love the potatoes so I did not need any fries. But they continued to try to tell me to get the peppermint I finally stressed to them we do not like that flavor to just refund it. The staff continued to dismiss the issue as if I should accept it and take the loss. The manager came to the window and acted as if the issue was not anything to be concerned about. She offered a baconator fry in place of the potato. I accepted them being that I was hoping to come to a resolution quickly. They kept just shutting the window and hoping I'd drive away. I informed them I attempted to claim items not received on the website but it didn't give me any option but to cancel the order. The manager came to the window with attitude as if I was inconveniencing HER. I kept telling them I just wanted a refund but they told me I just needed to find other food for them to give me. I told them aside from what they didn't have I had already order and got all the food my family needed/ would eat. I wasn't going to take food that would just go to waste. So the manager threw her hands up and yells "fine ill just dig in the till and refund you!" (Which I requested in the beginning!) She still shorted me my refund and the bacon on the fries was so burned it was BLACK! It looked like the char scraped off a grill. I had to disguard it all. I attempted to eat the fries but it tasted like I was chewing on a...
Read moreWe usually chose Wendy's as one of our "better" fast food choices, and we rarely ever have an issue. However, our last visit on 12/9/22 was unsatisfactory not because of the food or service, but because of an unpleasant experience between an employee and a woman he was arguing with. When my husband and I pulled into the parking lot, we noticed they were standing by the door practically yelling at each other. My husband and I decided to stay in our vehicle until the argument ended. As we were walking to the door, she stormed off and he went back inside to work. He happened to walk past us as he went back in the kitchen, and there was an overwhelming and obvious marijuana odor. My husband then noticed he looked like he was pretty spaced out. At that point, we were both so disgusted that we decided we didn't want someone that's high preparing our food and we walked out. I hope this matter is brought to the attention of management and that as a customer, it is completely unacceptable, not to mention illegal. I hate to see someone lose their job over something like this, but before I would even consider coming back, I would like to see that management is screening and working to ensure that all their employees pass a...
