Lets start with the good: The food was AMAZING. i went around 4pm and found out that they have happy hour. I definitely recommend the Douce drink under their Happy Hour Menu. The griot and the turkey tacos were both really well seasoned.
I got the Legume with Oxtail. It came with rice and beans and fried plantian. I also ordered the macaroni and cheese. My partner got the griot and that was really well seasoned and crispy but still moist. ALL of it was SMACKIN!! :)
SHOUT OUT TO OUR SERVER TAY & ALL THE STAFF HERE. Food came out fast, the portions were big!, and I will definitely be coming back. We were a party of 12 and no one was left waiting or wanting.
SOME THINGS TO KNOW:
The only reason why this place gets 4 stars from me is because I left my number with staff after calling multiple times on multiple days with no reply until I was finally about to give up. So they definitely have to get a better system going for events and groups. Maybe an online calendar or an email for events. That being said, I recommend that if you want to have a group outing here, go in person. The manager is usually there after 6PM. It's better to meet in person and plan accordingly with the manager for a smooth experience.
Now that you know, I recommend this place for take out for the really good food, for good vibes at lunch or dinner, the great, attentive staff, and for partying with good food after 8PM.
P.S. I will be back and I will definitely order the salmon pasta next time as well. I tried a friend's own and it...
Read moreI was hoping the service would have improved since my last visit to Douce Lounge, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. I’m deeply disappointed with the quality of service I experienced today. I called in my order 45 minutes in advance, yet still waited over an hour to pick it up. I wasn’t alone—around 20 people were also waiting over an hour for their food.
I felt especially bad for the young lady working the register alone, clearly overwhelmed and without any visible support. It’s not fair to her, nor to the customers.
I've been going to Douce Lounge long before it became popular, and I’ve met some amazing people there—staff who knew me by name. It’s disheartening to see such a decline in service. I’m writing this in the hope that management takes urgent action to address the staffing issues. As the business continues to grow and serve the community, customers deserve to be treated better.
This isn’t just about one bad experience—consider the delivery drivers, like those from Uber Eats, who depend on timely service for their livelihood. Consider the impact on your loyal clientele. Waiting over an hour for food is simply unacceptable.
I genuinely wish you continued success, but I also hope meaningful changes...
Read moreThe parking was 20 to park on a rocky rickety parking lot (no cement literally just rocks). I really don't see why we paid 20 a person to enter a very very very smokey establishment, we could hardly see eachother and I wondered why the smoke alarms didn't go off. Someone was smoking weed next to us (not cool). The server was absent most of the night (we had to ask the guards and every other person who looked like they worked there to ask for our server. The crowd is very rough looking, think a bunch of Kodak Black wik type and women that looked like they were fishing for papers (i even saw 2 bonnets). The crowd was just sad looking and made me wish I wasn't carribean haitian, very disturbing representation of our beautiful culture & people. When we finally got the food, it was neither good nor bad, it was average. I had Simon bites, my friends got fried fish with rice, griot platter with plantains. Our drinks were very weak and the mixes didn't fit well and were like a bunch of odd tasting Shirley temples with too much grenadine..not good. The bathrooms were clean and I was very happy about that. We left in record time. We vowed to never go back. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this...
