I finally had the chance to visit the brand-new EDEN Restaurant in West Park (Hollywood), FL, after hearing about it from Miami Food & Experiences Blogger @cheyennetheblogger. EDEN is a vibrant celebration of global flavors, bringing together American, West African, Latin, Asian, Italian, and Mediterranean dishes all reimagined with a refined yet approachable twist. The space lives up to its name, evoking a modern Garden of Eden with its lush, sexy, paradise like vibe. It’s the perfect spot for a date night, special celebration, or anyone looking to elevate their dining experience in a stunning setting. The menu ranges from $13 to $89, covering shareable plates, light bites, and hearty main dishes.
Since @edenrestaurantfl is a new restaurant, I’m giving them a little grace as there are a few kinks to smooth out, which I’ll touch on at the end. We purposely focused on the West African dishes.
COCKTAILS Let That Mango – A tropical and floral fusion. Smooth saki meets sweet mango and lemon sour.
Foodie Chews – Look at the unique bird cocktail glass! The drink itself was absolute perfection, so good I had to sip it slowly LOL
Lemonade Stand – A zesty grown-up twist on nostalgic lemonade, infused with ginger, served over ice for a sharp yet smooth refresher.
Foodie Chews – Guest stated that it had the right amount of lemon and ginger. Refreshing.
APPETIZER Suya Spice Platter - West African spiced beef with aromatic suya seasoning, served alongside fresh cucumber, tomato, and red onion salad.
Foodie Chews – Very flavorful and spicy tender beef. Paired well with the onions, tomatoes and cucumber however a suya sauce (sweet mild) or peanut sauce would close the deal!
Apple Walnut Crunch – Skipping this review as it is a great well-known salad. My guest chose this. Lol
MAIN Whole Fried Snapper – Golden whole fish seasoned with zesty Caribbean spices, served alongside purple sweet potato, yuca fries and sweet plantains.
Foodie Chews – Beautiful plating! I enjoyed the sweet potatoes. The large fried fish was fresh, meaty and super moist yet lacked flavor. It needs more seasoning inside and out, and a good marinade would really enhance the flavor. The dipping sauce helped out a lot and the purple salad was good. For some reason the crispy tail (yes the tail) was the star of the show and was very well seasoned.
Jollof Rice – Authentic Nigerian party rice. Distinctive smoky flavor, vibrant red orange color and perfect grain separation.
Foodie Chews – The first jollof rice I had was from a Sierra Leonean and it was DELICIOUS! From there I tried other versions from different countries, and I wasn’t feeling it. This jollof rice was good, smokey, well-seasoned and did not need any condiment.
DESSERT Do-Nit Tempt Me - Glazed Apple filled with passion fruit, Italian sweet cream, and sour cherry sorbet on a explosive walnut cookie crumble bed.
FoodieChews – They ran out of apples. I was looking soooo forward to trying it. I included a photo just to see it.
Rating: B Feedback - Having one main server is unacceptable. It took 40 minutes for someone to serve us. We got our drinks, appetizers and main meal all at once. All plates remained on the table until the end. Drinks come first…then appetizers. Remove the plates. Once done then the main arrives. Remove plates. Both desserts need to be available, especially on...
Read moreWhere do I even start… this establishment is truly nothing short of a nightmare. Being a model and influencer myself, i would’ve expected the “experience” to match what all of my friends have posted online; but it was truly a disaster every step of the way.
We came here to celebrate my mother’s 60’th birthday, and it was absolutely a heart crushing disappointment. Normally i don’t stop to making awful reviews about places but this place specifically is a complete lie. It’s absolutely a sham
First off, I’ll start with service: Absolutely horrendous. There’s about 4-5 different people that came to our table handing us food and drinks, some of which didn’t even know if we received our appetizers or not. If there are this many different servers, they should at least all be in communication.
Secondly, The food took about an hour and a half, to even get brought out to us. Portions were also very small and half of the menu items weren’t even available. We got there about 2 hours after they opened, there’s no reason that should even be a thing. On top of the fact that the table next to us ordered the same flight of drinks and they were given a completely different appearance than ours. Which is Absolutely Disgusting behavior.
For these prices, I would expect bigger portions and way better service. I don’t mind paying for a restaurant experience but this was nothing close to what a five star establishment should be like.
Third, absolutely a mess I went inside the bathroom to find it dirty, and someone left their personal shea moisture products in there? If this is supposed to be a high end restaurant, as I said previously with these prices; I would expect way better service.
I love to support black businesses but these are the reasons why it’s so difficult too. You are not only, ruining peoples special day, but also taking advantage of customers and not doing absolutely anything about it.
When I spoke to the manager, she said she was sorry for this experience and “what would I like her to do” As a manager, you should’ve at least offered to take money off of the bill, or compensated us somehow.
Not telling me when i come back to the establishment (which is never happening) to ask for you and you would take care of us.
This was my mother’s birthday and you all are absolutely bar none, atrocious for the way that this was carried. I can’t even believe what I witnessed yesterday. In all the years that I have been going to higher end restaurants this by far was the absolute worst experience that I have ever had.
You all truly need to do better and not waste peoples time. Also please be honest about your restaurant, do not make it seem one way on social media than in person not live up to the expectations that have been set. It was really...
Read moreI truly did not want to leave a negative review, but I gave the owner every opportunity to show he values customer service and takes concerns seriously—and he failed.
To keep this short: my party was refused proper seating because we had more guests than expected. While I can understand that policy, the issue is that numerous larger tables remained empty the entire time we were there. The greeter, who was rude from the start, assured us that if no one claimed those tables 30 minutes past their reservation, we could be moved. An hour past our reservation, we asked again to move. Our server checked, but the greeter refused. Despite heavy rain keeping people away, no explanation was offered directly to me, and then the manager gave a conflicting excuse about “later reservations,” which we knew wasn’t accurate because we had already seen the reservation iPad. Even after offering to wait another hour, we were still denied.
Meanwhile, the table we were given was far too small to accommodate both our meals and the flight of drinks I specifically came to try after seeing them online. The manager’s “solution” was to remove the glasses from the display and spread them across the table everyone was eating on—which was impractical. I cancelled the drinks, thinking at that point they might finally offer us one of the many unused larger tables, but no.
On top of that, our appetizers came out after our entrees, and the food itself was disappointing—steak overcooked and chewy. When I raised this with the owner, his response was that they were short-staffed because employees “went to church,” which has nothing to do with my concerns. He admitted the greeter had already received multiple complaints and was on her second day, yet still kept her as the first point of contact without moving her to another role. Even after admitting he also wondered why our larger group was squeezed at a tiny table while so many bigger ones sat empty, he offered no solution or remedy.
The final insult was the bill. I was still charged for the flight I never received, which was never even placed in front of me.
Overall, the place photographs well and might be good just for pictures, but the combination of poor service, lack of accountability, and...
