Perhaps because I came at 3pm on a Sunday...but friends I feel deceived by the reviews. Having moved away from South Fla and down for vacation I could not wait for a great venezuelan fix. Based on the ratings I found myself here. The food tastes like something you would buy at Publix and warm up. However at least at home you would be sure to heat it up. Here they just serve it cold. Yes the queso de Mano in the cachapa was cold upon service. The arepas were probably made a few weeks ago and they did not bother to heat it up. Tasted like eating an Amazon box with cheese. The tequenos fresh out of a warmer were at least some what lukewarm but very ordinary. I asked for butter on the arepas and they served me melted butter in a cup. And yes, I speak Spanish so it was not a language barrier issue. Coffee...notice no one mentions it...that is because there is nothing about it that is special. All of you who think this place is so great take time to visit Doggies Arepa Bar in Hallandale. Can't wait to see what you all that rated this place a five rates that one. I assure you there the food comes out hot and...
Read moreMaxi please fix your employee issue . I come 3 time's weekly order the same meal every time and it's aggravating that I have to ask for my soda with my meal . Half the time they tell me it doesn't come with it. It took over 3 months for the employees to pick up the phone on Sundays according to them they had no batteries. Half of the girls in the front are rude . Now there's a new policy for order when I just went yesterday . The cooks and the lady who makes the coffee are the nicest ones . I've literally seen an employee drawing when I'm waiting on an order that was ready . The food is amazing but the customer service is killing your buisness. And if meals don't come with sodas please fix the menu and go over policy's I'm tired of the...
Read moreIt started with no one there being bilingual enough to answer basic questions about the dishes let alone trying to order the food. We placed an order and they still missed an entire dish. Then said we didn’t order it when several people in our party all heard and watched us point out which we wanted. The three cheese arepa (the missing dish) was then rushed and the cheese barely melted. The other dishes were fair at best but the wrapper the food was in literally broke apart into your food. Also they left a small paper plate under a dish and that also broke apart. Some of the arepas were just too tough to chew and enjoy. The overall experience was just not what we hoped for. Sadly will have to pass this place up...
