I am not usually the person to go really in depth but I feel like I have to for this place. First off, the food is worth it, even if it’s 30 minutes out of your way. My group ordered varying options on the menu, and really enjoyed it. I got a pepito and can I tell you, don’t get it unless you are hungry. It is ginormous and I only got the smallest size. I had chorizo, bacon lettuce and cheese and a hoagie bun and it was very good, it isn’t your average American burger or hotdog, not that they even have one, you can tell they actually put a good amount of work into it unlike a fast food chain. It was very good though and they give you lots of make your items like, that and a bowl. The waiters are really nice. They do not skimp by on the amount of food, my sandwich was so full of food that nearly a quarter of it fell out. Next, the quality is very good, the food is cooked well and is mostly we stirred, except on sandwich just had a big glop of cheese in on place and very little everywhere else. It is still very good quality. The service is excellent, and everyone is very nice, they are always making sure you get a refill on your drink. While it is a sit-down restaurant, they serve your food decently fast considering, there were four other groups of four or more people that were there and getting drinks and their food as we ordered and they got it out within 10 ish minutes. Considering I have had to wait at other restaurants for over an hour, that is pretty good. It is also a good dinner place, but doesn’t have options for breakfast and opens at 11 so isn’t a place for early morning bites. It doesn’t have a huge amount of seating, but is substantial enough to cover the lunch hour crowd. It is an overall very good restaurant with some of the best sandwiches that I have ever had. I highly recommend it if you are even somewhat nearby. Also, get the fries, they are very good and crispy. You...
Read more(PLEASE SEE MOST RECENT REVIEW BELOW) 3/18/22 Cozy restaurant. Not too big or small. We ordered the guanábana juice(it’s a little thick) and it was delicious, the Venezuelan bowl (it was delicious but not sure I would pay 12.99 for it again, you do get lots of meat), and the Pabellón which was good as well. I’d pick the Pabellón over the Venezuelan Bowl mainly for the price but if price isn’t an issue either one is a great choice. We were full so we will have to go back just for their famous milkshakes Clean bathrooms nice atmosphere.
Visited again on 8/19 the food was subpar this time around yet prices have gone up. We got the pabellón, skewer, and both grilled beef and grilled chicken arepa plate and the brownie Nutella. The shredded beef had a distinct flavor which was off. A tad savory and a tad sweet. Something wasn’t right. The shredded chicken was more flavorful but needed more seasoning (I.e salt). The beans were flavorless, and the rice was just ok. The beef skewer was very flavorful and the best flavored of all the dishes. The vegetables were tender and flavorful. I ordered the yucca and plantain as a side. The yucca was perfect. The sauce was delicious and full of flavor. The plantain was cold and hard. The dessert was not all its cracked up to be. McDonald’s chocolate shake tastes better, this one was not as sweet, the brownie was sweet and chewy, the ice cream was just ice cream. Makes for a nice presentation though. Overall, for the price i don’t think its worth it. Not as good of an experience as before. Will drop down from 5 to 3 stars until next time. If we come back....
Read moreI am disgusted by the standards of this place. First off, they buy everything from Gordon's which is not the standards of a $30 lunch. Rice and beans were microwaved and the arepa was so greasy it feel apart as I picked it up. You can see on the wax the grease that was left behind. The meat was obviously canned and barely put any effort in, hardly any cheese. For this to be a best seller, I don't know. Lunch with a shake was $38 plus I had to tip our server. Sandwich was really big, but hard to eat because of the mass. Cheesecake was OK, liked the presentation of the milkshake but it was still sub par to charge 11.99 for it. All in all, to come here expecting genuine Venezuelan grub and finding out its not, was very disappointing. The place was dead too, which isn't normal for lunch hour. I don't see this place staying in business for very long.
Edit: see response from owner... Very rude and unprofessional response. The food was basically inedible. We took it all to go just to be nice, but it will be thrown in the garage. :) you guys obviously cater to your Hispanic community and no one else based on your other reviews. That's probably why you're still in business. Yes I I would rather buy store-bought food and cook it at home then pay a premium to cook the same food that I could make at home this is supposed to be an authentic Venezuelan restaurant. Not store bought ingredients that can be bought at any Gordon store and selling it to customers at a high price. You guys must save your good food for the...
