The food is always great here, but it's almost always warm, and JUST warm. I like that they have great options to choose from, but I don't like that they do not advertise those options all day. They serve the entire breakfast menu all day, but if you go to eat after a certain time, the breakfast menu presented is limited for some reason. In my opinion, breakfast is the best thing to get here, so it really frustrating seeing the best part of my experience (the breakfast menu) here disregarded.
The service here has always been bad. I'm not sure why, but the servers have always seemed reluctant to serve me, my friends and family. There have been times when I have audibly heard the servers arguing over who has to take care f us and it's very, VERY disheartening. Luckily I come for the food and not to be respected by the servers. My last experience, I was sat and watched as two servers saw me get seated by the host (who was quite nice) and both of whom ignored me. I was sitting there so long just looking around that the host who sat me had to go tell one of them to assist me. The woman there actually turned, looked at me and rolled her eyes.... I'd never seen her before in my life, so that reaction really surprised me. In the end, the other male server helped me, though he seemed really reluctant.
The food was great, but still not hot enough to call hot. The portions were so large that I was able to eat another meal for breakfast the next day.
Overall, I'm not going to stop going to MetroDiner, I just wish the food were hotter and the staff weren't so blatantly rude.
P.S. as a server myself for several years, I always tip 20% or more, so the excuse that I'm not a good tipper based on nothing but my looks doesn't sit...
Read moreVery happy with my experience. This was the first time I have come here and was super surprised. I ordered some of my favorite items: Mac n cheese and chicken noodle soup. I didn't have very high expectations. I was fully expecting a bowl of Kraft Mac n cheese but was genuinely surprised when it wasn't and was very good. My best friend enjoyed the Mac n cheese so much, she had to get some of her own. The chicken noodle soup was one of the best bowls of soup I've ever had. My best friend ordered the Caesar salad and green beans. She said the green beans needed some salt, but other than that, they were genuinely delicious. She enjoyed the Caesar salad, eating most of it. The atmosphere is so comforting and welcoming. I was shocked that when I walked in, there were about 5 to 10 tables of people. The staff were very friendly and so approachable. For two Mac n cheeses, a bowl of green beans, a Caesar salad, a bowl of soup, and a Coke, it was only $25 excluding tip. They as long offered for us to take food and drinks to go. I really enjoyed that they have different coffee and ice tea flavors daily, as well as soup of the day. I can definitely see myself becoming a regular! Will...

In the past few weeks, we have been here a couple times and from the time we walk in the door to us leaving we felt welcomed and like we were old friends with everyone. We were greeted by the hostess as soon as walked in, then as we left she made sure to say goodbye even though she was grabbing menus to seat other guests, even the kitchen staff said bye as we walked out. I love that you see the managers on the floor bringing food to tables and watching the food line to make sure every plate is right. I love walking in a place and not knowing who is management because they are working side by side with their employees. Our waitress that we have been fortunate to get each time Julie is SUPER AWESOME. You can tell she loves people and she loves her job. On top of that she works hard to make your visit enjoyable and is constantly checking in to make sure you are okay but doesn't make you feel rushed. This is now our #1 breakfast, brunch spot. Love the options and food is always hot, prepared...
