Having anticipating the opportunity to leave a review of Soho for weeks, I find myself distracted after reading so many negative reviews about Soho before expressing my own experience. Soho is the best Japanese Restaurant I have visited in Indiana. On 01/17/24, I came for a late dinner to wrap up a business conversation at around 9 P.M. We were grateful to find a dark, comfortable restaurant that was not over-crowded or rushing to push customers out before closing time. Our servers were very hospitable (thank you Marissa and Haley). I couldn't help but notice that the host would appear near our table to overlook our stay and ensure that we were neither displeased nor left waiting for anything (thank you Jaden for your keen awareness and honorable professionalism). After leaving a standard tip, we spent about $160 on a dinner for two with sake and a few Japanese beers. If you love sushi as I do, my recommendation for you is a voyage upon the 'Ocean's 11', 45 piece assortment of Sashimi, Nigiri and Sushi Roll delight complete with full dinner service in a fine dining atmosphere. Magnificent. Bravo Zulu!

Dinner last night was awesome!!! Believe it or not, it was my first time at a table side hibachi. I was there to celebrate a birthday for my friend and there was 8 or 9 of us. While waiting on our reservation, a couple of us sat in the bar where I got a bottle is sparkling sake and it was really tasty, as in I think it’s what champagne wishes it was. Then came the salad and miso. The soup was great and the salad had the best dressing I’ve ever had on it. I don’t know what dressing Japanese restaurants use, but the one I had last night was the best of any I’ve tried. I went with appetizer of coral eel sushi. I don’t know who looked at an eel and said “I bet if we kill it and eat it raw it’s going to taste great,” but I’m glad they did. Then I had the main course where I went with steak and scallops. I ordered extra rice and it was unnecessary. I couldn’t finish it all. I was stuffed!!! Go there! I was very pleased!!!

Food is always great and the service from the chefs are wonderful as well. I will say, their general customer service/management is poor. I was there the day Becky R. was there (she has a review below mine). We were at a completely different tables but overheard what happened. The fact that management was not willing to accommodate in anyway after their staff admitted to giving those families the incorrect prices, was mind blowing. SoHo charges dinner prices on the weekends and since they don’t list their prices anywhere online - the only way to know their prices would be by calling. So they had two groups of people pay almost double from what they were told and just said “sorry”. I personally knew they charged dinner prices on the weekend but just couldn’t remember what the prices were. To hopefully help other people - here are some photos of their dinner menu. Have to appreciate the duct tape too lol

I was not impressed by their customer service at all. We went there Sunday for lunch and were told on the phone beforehand that the kids meals would be $11 and the adults would be $14.

Well once we got there and were waiting to be seated, the hostess told us their Sunday meals were dinner menu costs all day so the kids would still be $11 but adults would be around $24! That’s a significant price difference for sure! Most places would compensate their mistake by giving you the initially quoted price or give you some kind of discount, but the manager repeatedly refused. The other separate party of 4 sitting with us experienced the same thing too and were not happy as well. It was disappointing to say the least and did not give us a favorable impression or desire to return quite honestly.

To top that off, they added a group of 8 gratuity rate to our meals when we were 2 separate parties of 4 and they knew that or should have known that. Both of us complained to the owner at the end.

And before all of this, when I initially called, the hostess asked to put me on hold for 2 seconds which turned into over 2 minutes so I hung up. I called back at least twice afterwards and got a busy signal and when we got to the restaurant, the hostess flippantly said she “forgot” about me and said I should have called back. I told her I did but both times the line was busy and then she said with a smile that she left the line waiting. The manager tried to excuse the hostess girl’s misquoted prices and behavior to her being new but the waitress later told us the hostess had been there 2 months. Sorry but that is inexcusable. Anyways,...

First off I want to say, “I heard this was a good place to dine?!?” We walked inside and wasn’t acknowledged at all, we stood there like 8 minutes while the greeter, looked at us and pretended to be busy, I actually had to walk up to him and ask him “do you welcome people my color here?” He said yes and told us there was a w we had just called 2 minutes before we walked in, to see if seating was available and we were told no wait for party of 2. We sat down at our seats, and waited another 10 minutes before we were acknowledged, the whole time, our waitress was the same lady that was tending to a table away from us. The waitress just didn’t care, and pretended to care once she finally walked over and introduced herself. Our appetizers were 8/10, but our meal was vomit!! I do not eat dirty shrimp, period!! The shrimp in my fried rice was not cleaned and every piece but 1 had the digestive tract (vomit) I don’t care how busy or attractive a restaurant makes themselves out to be with fancy features, the quality of the food is more important to me! So I will not return here, and don’t recommend this restaurant. The looks and the features reel you in, but if you don’t care how you present or prepare the food, you’re gross to me, reminds me of people that don’t wash their hands after touching dirty things, or using...

We came here as a large family 14. 10 adults 4 kids. We did call ahead and make reservations. What we thought was going to be a great meal, turned out that it was not so great. We were met with rudeness from the very beginning. The serving sizes were extremely small! Almost childlike. The servings of rice were small. The servings of vegetables were xtra small. Its like they made a huge serving for 7 people and split it between 14 people. The rice was so hard that nobody ate it. So they did fix that by giving those who wanted it a serving from the kitchen. Even with all the dissatisfaction the management never came out to apologize. With a party this large, I would expect them to send out their best chef and serving staff. I chose this place because I used to live in the area 4 or 5 years ago and it was absolutely tremendous. Now not so good. In the end our waitress apologized and said they couldn't take anything off the bill for the food but would give to go rice from the kitchen for whoever wanted it. This act of kindness on her part is the only reason I didn't give them 1 star. With a bill over $650 including 25% tip. The manager could have at the very least come in and say hello, sorry about problems. We weren't looking for a discount; we were just looking for a good satisfying meal with the good company...
