Bahar provided catering for our wedding in June. While our main entree was provided by the venue (The Fashion Island Hotel), the Bahar team provided our appetizers and executed our fruit table display. Mehrdad jaan and his team truly went above and beyond for our family. We were very close to signing a contract with another well-known Persian caterer in Orange County, but were let down with the quality of their food after attending a wedding that they catered. Mehrdad is highly professional and extremely flexible. He met with my mother and I numerous times prior to our wedding and executed everything we requested, which was a lot! They had an appetizer display, charcuterie station, and additional tray passed appetizers. Their display was beautiful and the food was FANTASTIC -- our guests were so pleased! They provided so much food that we had leftovers and never ran out of anything. We also asked for the Bahar team to provide mini tacheens to come out with the main entree. Mehrdad was open to the idea and made it happen. This was one of our guests favorite details of our wedding! Their fruit display was beautiful, and about 20% lower in cost than the other estimates that we received. Additionally, Mehrdad and team partnered with Sweet Lily's Bakery to incorporate Persian pastries on the table as well -- they even picked-up everything for us at no additional cost. On the night of, Mehrdad and his team worked extremely hard to bring our vision to life. Our venue and wedding planner loved working with them. Our families will be using them for any and all events going forward.

You’d never guess that tucked above a grocery store is one of the most vibrant, delicious, and downright charming Persian restaurants around. Walking in, the vibe immediately hits you—modern yet warm, buzzing but not overwhelming. It’s the kind of spot you want to linger in. Let’s talk food: the jujeh kabob was juicy and perfectly marinated, with that gorgeous charred edge and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The koobideh? Insanely flavorful, seasoned just right, and paired with saffron-sprinkled basmati rice that was fluffy and fragrant—clearly high-quality stuff. And don’t sleep on the little side of torshi and salad—tangy, crunchy, and the perfect contrast. But here’s the surprise star: the desserts. We tried both baklava and the Persian-style zoolbia (those golden syrupy spirals), and they were next-level good. Not overly sweet, just rich, nutty, and beautifully plated. The prices? Surprisingly reasonable for the portion size and quality of ingredients. This place is a hidden gem in every sense of the word—fresh fruit, top-tier meats, legit saffron rice, and a team that takes real pride in their food and hospitality. If you’re craving Persian comfort with a cool twist, this spot is a must. Bring a friend. Or two. You’ll be back.

We have been frequenting this restaurant for years as one of the best Persian restaurants in OC. The ambiance is nice and service is excellent. It is located in the second floor next to a middle eastern grocery store so you can do shopping or walk around after the meal. We ordered two eggplant dips to begin with. One with more yogurt and the other with more chill and a bit smoky. Both are excellent choices for the naans (two plates of hot naans were served per table). Each of us ordered different kabobs. I previously tried their lamb shank (excellent BTW), so I went for Chicken Soltani. There are two skewers of kabab, one with ground marinated chicken that is packed with herb flavors and melts in your mouth (like beef koobideh). The other kabab is chicken chunks which has more texture but still very trendy and juicy. We substitute rice with salad and grilled tomatoes, which is a much healthy choice and will not put you to sleep after me, as the portion is HUGE. We followed the entree with Persian saffron ice cream with a bit pistachio and sugary faloodeh noodle. Overall excellent dining experience and we will for sure tk come back many more times.

Let me just start by saying—Bahar Restaurant never disappoints! We’ve hired them for multiple events, and every single time, they go above and beyond. Mehrdad, the owner, is hands down the best in the business. He’s not just an amazing organizer but also a fair adviser who truly knows how to run things smoothly. No stress, no chaos—just pure professionalism and calm leadership that makes everything come together perfectly.

Now, let’s talk about the real star of the show—the food. Bahar fed 190 guests, and people are still raving about how incredible everything was! The flavors, the quality, the freshness—it was all next level. Every dish was packed with rich, authentic flavors, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Honestly, no other Persian restaurant or caterer comes close to what Bahar delivers.

Huge shoutout to the catering team for an amazing setup and presentation. And special thanks to Vlademir and Isaac, who worked their tails off delivering food and appetizers multiple times between Mission Viejo and Huntington Beach on a crazy Friday night. They made sure everything was fresh, hot, and perfectly timed—all while being super quick and accommodating with a smile.

Bahar sets the gold standard when it comes to Persian food and catering. If you want your event to be a guaranteed success, this is the team you call. Mehrdad and his crew, you crushed it again—can’t wait for the next...

FOR YOUR SANITY, DIGNITY, AND HEALTH DO NOT EAT HERE. I personally don’t like do read long reviews, but you must read this review in order to decide whether or not to eat here. My family and I ordered delivery from Bahar for a dinner party that we hosted for a large group of family and friends. We expected the food to be good since we have ordered from here before. However, we were truly DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED at the trashy quality of the chicken, rice, and beef that we ordered. The chicken had a RUBBERY texture, it tasted OLD, and had a very odd color that made it look soggy. It was HUMILIATING to have to serve this “food” to our guests and it revolted our guests to the point that we had to put a frozen pizza in our oven so that they had something to eat for dinner. Due to the fact that we spent almost $300 on this terrible and inedible food, we called the restaurant and explained to them the situation. To our surprise, they were extremely rude and refused to give us a refund. Any other restaurant would have apologized immediately and given us our $300 back, but Bahar decided to disrespect one of its top customers. In general, it’s not the money that matters, but the principal of giving us disgusting food to serve at a party and refusing to make it right. Due to the fact that Bahar RUINED OUR DINNER PARTY we will NEVER be ordering from here ever again and you...
