If you searching for real authentic Southern Thai Food, or just general Thai Food. This is it! THIS PLACE HAS TOP QUALITY THAI FOOD AND AUTHENTIC!!! I am Malaysian and I have been to Thailand all my life. I know what is it like to eat and breath Thai food. Been looking for classic Thai dish (salted fish fried rice, dry curry chicken and tom yung soup) usually cant find it in any other Thai restaurant, not in LA certainly not even in Orange County. When i just come and do my laundry nearby this restaurant, i was browsing the menu, and looking at their menu i knew instantly they are serving very authentic Thai food. From the colour of the food, from the list of the ingredients written and explained in the menu, I knew they will satisfy my cravings and my belly. Best part is the cost of the food same as like any lousy Thai restaurant out there. The owner explained how they started their restaurant journey down from LA and slowly moving towards Orange County. This place should have wining award for serving Real Authentic Thai Food. So I ordered my dishes, so happy i get to see real galangal root, lemon grass, ginger in my soup. I am Asian, so I know these herbs good for my body. Exactly what i needed because i feel like I almost catching cold. I asked them to make it spicy for me, and it meets my level! Portion are very big and generous with rich flavour. Dang! They just did new renovation and now they even served sushi! I didn't order any sushi, but where can u go to Thai restaurant and at same time if yiu have small cravings for some sushi, u can order a plate or two. Perfect place to come with family who may sometimes want to eat sushi and you just wanted to eat Thai. This is it....
Read moreThe flavors transported me back to Thailand, a nation of foodies! Nestled in the corner of a relatively nondescript strip mall, Siam Thai & Sushi is a hidden gem of Thai authenticity and a modern spin on sushi. While many might find it unusual to combine Thai and Japanese cuisines, such restaurant concepts are familiar in Thailand and to Thai people. Believe it or not there’s actually historical precedent of Japanese influence in Siam, the former capital of Thailand, going back to the early 17th century during the Ayutthaya Kingdom. The fascinating story of Yamada Nagamasa, known as the “Samurai of Ayutthaya” deserves a closer look.
As for the food, I can only say that it was undeniably “oishi”, “ah-roy” or delicious. I highly recommend trying Thai classics such as the Pad Thai, Crying Tiger, and Som Tum as well as less well known dishes such as the Duck Curry and Khao Soi. I secretly hope to someday see Sai Ua on the menu to further remind me of Thailand. The Atlantic Roll is a colorful and decadent rice-free addition that marries Japanese sashimi with Thai spice and heat reminiscent of the Thai islands. Lastly, it’s hard to pass up on their Thai Iced Tea and Thai Iced Coffee, both of which express bold and refreshing flavors.
You’ll leave satisfied with a desire to book a flight to Thailand for a month long culinary tour inspired by Siam...
Read moreSo I am a true blue Thai food lover and have tried many Thai Dishes from West Hollywood, Culver City, Torrance, Redondo Beach, etc. But this Thai place is something very special. Hidden tucked in the corner of this strip mall in Mission Viejo, you’d never think that you could get that authentic taste of Thai. The prices are amazing for the amount of food you get and the taste is out of this world. I used to love yellow curry and then I tried green curry. It was a toss-up, BUT THEN I tried their Panang Curry and exclaimed, why haven’t I tried this before!!!! I HAVE to eat this now once a week and I think about it when I’m not eating it. That’s when you know its good. Mama, as I call her, since I lost my own mother a while ago, she made a special dessert for me that I have never tasted before. She is so creative and generous. They love feeding and sharing their food, which is why it tastes so good. They are cooking out of love. Come and taste some of this love. You will leave with a happy heart. I absolutely adore this couple and their food made from...
