My daughter's and I were going to walk around downtown the other evening and they wanted horchatas from El Cazador. While I waited for them to be prepared, I chatted with a gentleman up at the bar about how their horchatas are so much better than another restaurant in town. A few minutes later he brings the two drinks out and tells me that he's the owner and that my drinks are on the house. What a surprise!! What a kind man. Such a sweet and simple gesture, and that means the world to me.
I want to show my appreciation and let them know that THIS will be my family's go to Mexican restaurant from now on. I'm a very loyal person and I was so appreciative of that kind gesture. Thank you again for the horchatas.
My daughter and I came back to eat on Cinco De Mayo. My oldest daughter is still trying to find out what she likes. She's ordered a couple different things from their menu, but I'm a creature of habit and I get just about the same thing every time. She ordered the Carnitas Rancheras this time. It had a lot of pieces of steak with onions, peppers, and mushrooms. She was able to make some tacos with her meal. Order it with the corn tortillas, it makes a huge difference in taste. I ordered the enchiladas Coloradas and it was really, really good. The enchiladas were completely filled out with chunks of beef that just melted in your mouth. It's like that Sunday pot roast that your mom or Gramma made growing up—but better!! She's had the Camarones Al Ajo. The shrimp and sauce was so good. I'm not a huge fan of rice, but I even ate some of her rice with that sauce. It was so good. Next time we'll...
Read moreWe used to go to a great Mexican place close to the house in St. Louis, and since this is close to home in Missoula we thought we'd give it a shot. Definitely not disappointed. Being in the restaurant industry myself I could tell that they were operating somewhat short-staffed but this in no way negatively impacted our visit. We were sat immediately, our order was taken promptly (for both starter and our main course), chips and salsa hit the table quickly (really good, but the salsa was a bit thin for my tastes, and I am iffy about cilantro. But I requested something a LOT hotter, which did the trick. Minor quibble...), and our food arrived less than ten minutes after we ordered. Our server was super friendly and attentive, and I wish that I had asked her name to give her props here, but I tend not to do that when I go out, largely because of my experiences with people asking for my name over the years. People can and will be jerks. 'Nuff said... The decor was a bit sparse, but they're new, so that's understandable, especially in the covid-19 era. BUT the place was clean and organized, and the' facilities' were well maintained. I could ramble on, but suffice it to say that we'll return. Great food, quick service, friendly staff...pretty much everything you look for when going out to...
Read moreCame to visit my son all the way from Wisconsin and we pick that place for his birthday dinner and we had the Worse service I had experience. I order a chicken fajita dinner, I asked Bernadette (the server)if it was spicy which she replied no. I asked her to please add some jalapeños to it. Then she comes back with some cold sauce and hands it over, tells me that’s your jalapeño sauce. So at this time I’m confuse because I ask her to add them to my food. She said we can’t it will make them blind and the cook doesn’t feel like doing it. Am like what?? I said any other restaurant would do it every time I ask, but not this one. We also ask for some water and we ended asking a different server to bring us water because she forgot as it was more important to stay and talked to someone else. I will never recommend this place to anyone. I wouldn’t even wanted to give her a tip but we were a party of 5 so it’s added anyway. Worse ever and the cook and the server should go and get classes on customer service and cooking lessons. McCormick mix would it be better...
