I’ve been to B’s Wine Bar several times before, but today’s experience was incredibly disappointing. My girlfriends and I went for a Christmas brunch, and the service and food left much to be desired.
Initially, we were seated inside, but due to limited space, we asked to move outside. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake. The outdoor area was swarming with bees, and after we finally got the owner’s attention, she said she’d send someone to get spray. However, her demeanor was far from friendly, and this is not how an owner should act.
We had to repeatedly ask for basic things: turning on the fans, turning on the televisions, and even getting menus. After two hours, we still hadn’t received menus or proper service. We had to go inside multiple times just to request water and find someone to take our order. It was clear there weren’t enough staff available to manage both indoor and outdoor seating.
To make matters worse, the food was a letdown. The brunch menu was limited to items like fish and grits or shrimp and grits, but everything was bland. The pork chops, even with grill marks, had no seasoning or flavor. It felt like no effort was put into making the food enjoyable.
What made the experience even more frustrating was that the owner seemed more focused on a group of guys occupying the space we had last year. It was clear they were her priority, not the rest of her customers or staff. This lack of attention and care for her guests was deeply disappointing.
This was a frustrating and disheartening experience, especially for what was supposed to be a festive occasion. B’s Wine Bar needs to seriously reconsider its staffing, food quality, and management approach to ensure all guests are treated with care and...
Read moreSo I've been to B's 4 times and typically have a great time with great service. Thursday night was a different experience. Grant it we arrived around 10:30pm. We were meeting some friends who were visiting from New York. We suggested Bs because we knew it would be the best vibe for our age group on a Thursday night. There were 2 women who stood out and provided smiles and great service. Our waitress (tall dark skinned sister is beautiful) and a short, fair skinned sister with blonde braids. They provided what I was accustomed to. Where the night went left was with the 2 YNs. One was short with afro type hair( who was reluctant to help us get our final menu items ordered due to the time), and the other tall, slim one who really almost got told off. He was the one with zero manners. It was close to closing time, so he literally stood at our table without making eye contact and watched us eat what was left on the plates and picked them up one by one. We were basically grabbing food and eating out of our hands as we felt rushed. My husband said, "Let's go before I have to go off on this, dude." I felt bad because we recommended Bs. I wonder if he was raised that way, or maybe he doesn't like his job. Either way, circle back yougin. Don't stand over patrons when they are clearly eating. It was obvious that he was impatient because he never asked. Are you all still working on this? or how was everything? It's important young man that you understand the reputation of the owner and what her expectations are. Employees should carry the expectations of the owner whether she is there or not. Im not counting Bs out, but I surely don't want to encounter...
Read moreI was excited to visit a new spot not too far from home. After seeing photos online, I was impressed. So I made reservations for my husband and I to have our date night.
When we walked in, there was a slender brownskinned man standing behind a hostess stand shuffling around and not looking up. There was a sign that said "seat yourself" but I figured that was for people who just walk in not for those who made reservations. In a very nasty tone he said "seat yourself" never looking up, speaking or acknowledging our presence. Not sure if he was the owner or an employee but it was very off putting and I was two seconds away from just turning around and leaving.
My husband and I sat at a random table and a young lady came up to us. My husband then informed her that we made reservations and she sat us at our table. We placed our orders and the food wasn't up to par. Yes it came out fast, but the fish I ordered was hard as a rock.
Our server Alexis was great. She kept checking in the whole time and did an amazing job.
When we got ready to leave, a photographer was blocking our way and didn't bother to move and he was having a leisurely conversation with the man standing behind the host station who finally decided to look up from his phone.
Overall, I don't plan on setting foot in there ever again. I always hear "support black business" but I'm not going to spend my money any place where they don't even have the decency to acknowledge the people who are coming in to help keep...
