Went to Sonic last night. Ordered small popcorn chicken, which was delicious and hot, ordered a large Reses Blast which was great, and I ordered a medium Mozzarella sticks and they were still refrigerator cold in the middle. As I was waiting for my blast I took a bite of the Mozzarella sticks and discovered they were cold. I informed the young lady as she gave me my blast she apologized and went and told a gentleman who appeared to be the expo. Here is where things got terrible. The gentleman came to the drive thru window and here is our interaction. He said " sir can you explain to me how your mozzarella sticks are cold.?I said I dont know would you like to feel them? He said yes so I let him feel the cold stick. He said " those aren't ice cold If you wanted them cooked more you should have ordered them crispy." I said I just want some hot mozzarella sticks, he refused to make me any more. So I said thats fine then just give me my money back. He said no you already bit them. I said you can have them back. Then he said ok well give me the blast back and ill give you your money back. I said I dont want my money back for the blast just the mozarella sticks. Then he said they are cooked fresh to order there's no way the are cold explain to me how they can be cold. I said well in sure they are cooked from frozen. Either your did not cook them the full time, your fryer oil wasnt at temp or they were stacked together. He said there is no way we used the time for 2 minutes and 30 seconds they are not cold. Then he let me sit there for 10 minutes while the rest of the drive thru backed up. FInally he came back to the window with my change he called me ice cold and said I bet you eat them anyways. . At this point I offered the cold sticks back and he said naw just leave. Never seen anything like...
Read moreSo close to home I'm going to have to self restrict on how many trips I make to Sonic.
So my last trip to Sonic was Disastrous!! I pre ordered online for a Smash double cheeseburger, groovy fries and a root beer drink. When I got there to pick up my order, I followed the instructions in the responding email that the order was ready. After pulling up to a parking station and completing the kiosk of my arrival and #14 stall I waited for more than 20 minutes and no one brought me my food. So I got in the drive through line (another long wait; note it is between 7:45 & 8:30 pm Saturday 9-14-24). I finally get to the drive through window and a young man says "that will be $27.+ some change". I responded "no my order was $11.46" and repeated exactly what my order was. He calls a female coworker as he closes the window. They appear confused and unprofessional as I'm still waiting for another 5+ minutes. Finally the young lady comes to the window and asked me again what my order was. She does apologize and said she would check on it. Another 5-7 minutes later she handed me 2 sacks 1 contained a box, I didn't check them at the moment. As I asked her where was my Root beer drink? She apologized again as she handed me the soda. I didn't check the order sacks until I got home. The pictures show how far off base and WRONG the food I got! Needless to say I didn't eat the overcooked wrong order, it was too late in the night for me to go back to Sonic's for exchange. I kept the food and my receipt intending to contact the manager for a refund or meal replacement. Decided to X this Sonic off my list for a...
Read moreThe Ice Cream That Never Was
As a resident of the area, I've heard the running joke about how our local Sonic is always "out of ice cream." Imagine my surprise when, during a recent visit, my group and I were able to order four waffle cones! However, the excitement was short-lived, as our experience quickly took an unfortunate turn.
Upon ordering, we were asked to pull forward and wait for a few minutes while the ice cream "chilled." Little did we know that this brief pause would stretch into a frustrating 30-minute wait. Eventually, a staff member emerged from the establishment, handing us a refund and informing us that the ice cream machine was actually down. This revelation would have been amusing, had we not wasted so much time sitting in our car.
The timestamp on our order was 18:14, while the refund was issued at 18:51, highlighting the excessive duration of our wait. Hoping to rectify the situation, I approached the manager, Jose, and requested a coupon for future ice cream cones as compensation for the time we had lost. Instead of offering a solution, Jose raised his voice, stating that he had already provided a refund and that if I wished to complain further, I should call the number on the receipt.
In conclusion, our visit to Sonic was a disappointing and frustrating experience. The prolonged wait, coupled with the manager's unprofessional behavior, left a sour taste in our mouths. It's disheartening to see such a popular chain fail to meet basic customer service expectations. Here's to hoping that future visits will be met with both ice cream and a more...
