I was blessed enough with Covid they were willing to place my order on my truck. They were kind and courteous. I was disappointed about the online menu prices being very different than the actual prices. Now as a cook I'm particular about giving honest assessments so those that read my reviews gain a healthy perspective before visiting any establishment I review. The food here was for sure not the best. It was generally good but for me average at best for Texas barbecue. The potato salad was the best thing I ordered and some of the best I've had. The cornbread should have butter brushed over the top when it comes out the oven so it's not so dry. The Mac and cheese over cooked, swollen noodles that were just short of paste in consistency. It was my very first time eating Oxtail and for me it was the same as neckbones but with less meat. Oxtail was good just not great. The brisket didn't fall apart like great brisket should. The cake was decent. For the $$$ spent I was disappointed. Again they were very kind and accommodating and service was great. Just to call yourself the greatest barbecue you need to at least be very good. The Ribs were dry and tough but tasted pretty good. The rice was watery, and the greens were average at best. So overall I'll not go back because it was way too expensive for $70 plus dollars and nothing stood out except the family loving type atmosphere and friendliness of the people coming out and going into the store. I believe the place could be way better with just a little more love put into the craft of creating the food. I suggest they update the menu prices as well so they don't offend more people that expect a price about $25-30 less...
Read moreThe BBQ is okay. The greens tasted like the canned version. The cake is good but they are very inconsistent about the size of the cake slices. They can give you a much smaller slice and still charge the same price. But the reason for two stars is customer service. One day I came in and the lady was sitting down playing on her cell phone. The cook was sitting and he went to the kitchen. She stayed in her seat and yelled "What can I get for you?" I told her and sat down to wait for my food. Started reading a newspaper. Then I heard all this noise, shuffling feet and all kinds of activity noises. I looked up. Two white men came in. The lady hurried up and got behind the counter to serve them. She offered them a drink while they waited. I was in such shock and disappointment that the two guys got much better treatment than me. We're all paying customers, right? When I went to get my food, I asked her why she got up for the white guys. She offered me a lame excuse. I felt devalued. And I haven't wanted to return there since. I drive past them and shake my head. When a business shows you they don't want your business or that they don't value every customer,...
Read moreI grew up in Missouri City and loved this place when it was Grady's bbq. Everything was delicious. Since moving back to Missouri City, I saw the name had changed but remembered the food, my face lit up, and there i was. Was I disappointed, on several occasions. I paid 20$ for a 2 meat plate with desert and a drink, my choice of meat was ribs and sliced brisket, with double greens. I brisket was all fat, the ribs were small and the greens were straight glory greens from the can, the hell! Ok, second visit. Thinking maybe I caught them on a bad day. The exact same thing. Third times a charm. My order, oxtails, and chopped beef bake potato. The oxtails were bland, I had more mixed vegetables than oxtails and the baked potato, man please. From that day I vowed, never no more not again. I mean what the hell, you never smell any good food cooking, it all pre- prepared and made hot or warm on order at least it could be quality and flavorful. Needless to say I was very disappointed, I support my own but I can't just throw...
