So doing a trip out west we were looking for a place off the beaten path. Zesto seemed to fit the bill with the great reviews.
it's a small hole on the wall and looked quite promising as we pulled up. The menu is full with various options for even our picky eater. however, the real downside is the teenagers taking orders and making the food. The first burger that caught my eye was the pizza burger. no detail on the menu so:
me: what's on the pizza burger? him: lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, ketchup, mustard. me: so what's "pizza" about it? him: i dunno.
i mean really?!?!
i ended up ordering a traditional burger and fries. it was good, but no better than your average fast food chain restaurant. we would have stayed for the desserts, but after dealing with the clueless staff thought better of it.
i guess it's a small town in South Dakota so you can't really expect that much from the teenagers. but come on. if you're local and have the patience you might be able to learn the menu and what's good. if not, stick to the consistent chains so you know what you're getting. can't really recommend this place even though i...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food itself was alright. Nothing out of this world, though. The āchickenā tenders are closer to oversized nuggets and the fries were unsalted. It was very hot though, Iāll give them that!
They charge for sauces (not just extra sauces, every sauce is charged) and it was a dollar extra for tomato and lettuce on a burger. That should be included with the actual burger price. They could easily raise their menu items a few cents to accommodate for any extra costs instead of blatantly overcharging for tiny containers of condiments and basic burger toppings.
On top of that, ordering to go was a no-no. We stood for half an hour waiting for two hot menu items. I get that ice cream and other items are served faster but 30 minutes for tenders and fries was a little ridiculous.
Not going back. A fast food restaurant has the same quality with one tenth of the time and no extra costs for little items. It would be a great place for a decent ice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I were doing some shopping at Cabelaās and before we hit the road to get back to our camping spot we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. We didnāt want our normal fast food stuff we can get back at home. We wanted something local, something we donāt pass by everyday. Google pulled up this location, and I am glad it did. The food was wonderful, and staff were amazing. I love the old time diner feel. It floods back tons of memories. I got an old school foot long, husband got Kellyās Special. We ordered a side of corn nuggets to share as we donāt see it too often. This place didnāt let us down. If youāre passing through make sure to stop here and grab a bite to eat!!! You canāt find these type of resutrants anymore. Thank you to the staff for being...
