Al's Hotdogs & Other Fine Foods — Restaurant in Mobile

I don’t remember the last time I had a hot dog from here. I wanted to come back but I didn’t necessarily have a taste for a hot dog. I did order a hot dog though because who comes to a hot dog place and doesn’t get a hot dog? The place didn’t seem really busy but there a few tables occupied. I ordered a jumbo dog. I put pickles, onions, tomatoes, mustard, and relish. Maybe relish and pickles is redundant but that’s what I wanted. I made it a combo so I got potato salad and a coke. The order was to go and it was ready within minutes of me sitting down. I got home and was ready to eat my lunch. The potato salad was a white potato salad and it didn’t disappoint. I’m not very particular about my potato salad as some people but this one was really good. The hot dog was delicious. The frank was flavorful and all my toppings were just what it needed to put it over the top. I wish I knew what brand frank it was. I definitely would recommend Al’s as the number one place...

Came here for the first time on a recommendation from a friend. Food was good , the hot dog was fresh and the toppings were as well. I also had the red beans a rice which was home made to my surprise and i found it to be of good quality and portion size ( 16 oz ) plus choice of cornbread or crackers. I noticed the place was clean and that care was put into making my order. Great place to go especially if you are like me and refuse to eat at most fast food places due to horrible ingredients. As far as the negative reviews , This isnt a place for snobby folks looking to be coddled and have their asses kissed , this is a normal home owned southern style restaurant with good offerings at fair prices. Called to place an order to go today. Owner replied we don’t take Togo orders. I have one hour for lunch like most people. It would be nice if you could call in a Togo order so you would have enough time to enjoy your lunch. There was not one customer in the restaurant at 1:00. That tell you something. The lady that took our order was not friendly and neither was the owner. I stated I could not wait until April 9 when we don’t have to wear these mask anymore. His reply was “ If you come in here your going to wear one”. I don’t think Al’s hotdogs will get anymore of...
