American Deli — Restaurant in Mobile

This was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I already ordered my food and paid for it on door dash, so I came in with the intention to pick up my food and go. Shouldn’t have been a big issue. However, when I walked in the girl greeted me by saying “you have to wear a mask for me to serve you”. As rude as she could possibly be. I obliged and walked back out to try and find a mask, and when I told her I was just picking up food I had already paid for, she told me she couldn’t give me the food because it was “company policy” that I must be wearing a mask. I fortunately knew the gentleman next door at AT&T and he loaned me one, but considering the mask mandate is down, this establishment should not have refused service. Was so glad to see an American Deli locally. The wings & fried rice combo is great. Lots of veggies & large pieces of egg. It was slightly salty but will definitely order it again to see if it's less salty the next time. Large rice portion, but wings (have always been) a bit small. Great flavor all around. I ordered the garlic parmesan wings. The sweet chili ones are quite spicy - just fyi. This location was super clean & staff was very friendly. They're strictly abiding by the mask rule, so if you're looking for the comfort of that safety precaution during these crazy times, know they've got it covered. The food was just average. I watched as the cook poured old fries that had already been cooked back into the fryer. The Girl taking my order was on her phone the whole time, and the girl who made my drink was picking her nose right before and coughing all over the cup.. I got the fish with fries, it was $10 for a two piece, a bit high. It was pretty quick, but everyone there seemed to hate their job. Nobody was outright rude, but that is not enough. Based off this, I will probably never go back again, could have gotten a much better meal for less money at a place where the employees do not pick scratch or cough...
