Would not recommend going here. We came this morning to celebrate and had terrible service. We had a party of 9, 2 of which were babies. Yes our children are loud but we were trying our best and deserved a meal to celebrate our morning.
We ordered our food and it came out, my husband had an oyster poboy, the bread was rock hard. I had the oyster Caesar salad which literally never came. We had to wait 15 minutes for anyone to even come to the table to check on us so we could say anything about my husbands sandwich and my salad. I had a side of bacon with my salad that didn’t even come out until 10 minutes after everyone else’s food. They did remake my husbands poboy which still came out before a SALAD that had been ordered from the beginning. Finally when everyone else finished their food and started asking for checks I told them not to worry about the salad anymore.
Not once did our server or a manager apologize or try to make it right, our server never even came over to the table again until we finally walked up to the front to wait to pay. The server was rude, she wouldn’t make eye contact with us, didn’t apologize and when my mom asked if the salad had been taken off the check all she said was “you can check” rudely. And when we asked why the salad had taken so long she replied “they had to cut lettuce and stuff” 25-30 minutes for cutting lettuce? I would never ever eat here again after the service I experienced today, coming from someone who has been serving for 6 years now I know how these things should and shouldn’t be handled.
Side note, Lainey who came at the end was super sweet and got us to go drinks and was the only one who was nice to us while...
Read moreBBB is warm and welcoming with plenty of booths and high tables. When you walk in you’re immediately met by a hostess. There was one person in the line before me, and so I waited less than a minute.
This visit I had take out and ordered a chicken burrito with frees. The food was piping hot and ready to eat when I got to my office 10 minutes down the road. They included to go plastic-ware and plenty of napkins. The food was delicious and not over fried. I also got a mocha latte which I thought was very good. It wasn’t too sweat with just enough caffeine to kick start the day, but then again, when is too much caffeine ever really a problem?!
If you’re into swag, they have caps, shirts, and sweaters. I got a shirt for 20+ tax. The clothing is really good quality cotton and looks like it can take a few laundry cycles; time will tell.
I think the thing I appreciated the most was the hometown feeling. While I was waiting for my food to come out, an elderly couple showed up for breakfast. They nodded off the hostess, and then went outside to have a seat. Within a couple of minutes, the hostess was at their table and chatting them up like they were old friends. This kind of service goes beyond customer service and I think is a representation of the kind of friendships you can build with the staff at the restaurant.
If you’re looking for Wi-Fi connectivity, this place has it. From the looks of it it looks like they have fiber Internet service and they don’t rate limit you. You could probably get a little bit of work done if you wanted to break out...
Read moreTL;DR: 3/5. Cool spot with a lively vibe and fast service, but parking sucks. Tried three dishes - none were terrible, but none really stood out either. Food looked better than it tasted. Just okay overall. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.
Big Bad Breakfast in Mobile has a good, casual vibe. It’s loud but in a normal, busy breakfast spot kind of way. Service was fast, which I liked. I didn’t wait long, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Parking is a pain. Not many spaces, and nearby businesses will tow. On busy days, you’ll probably have to wait for someone to leave before you can park.
I ordered three things:
Biscuit and Gravy with sausage gravy: Decent portion, but basic. The biscuit was alright and the sausage gravy didn’t have much flavor. For six dollars, I expected more. I’ve had better from local mom and pop places.
Oyster Scramble: Scrambled eggs mixed with bacon, onions, tomatoes, and potatoes, topped with fried oysters and sliced jalapeños. Sounded good, but it was bland. One of the oysters had shell pieces in it, which ruined the bite.
Creole Omelet: Three egg omelet with shrimp, andouille sausage, onions, tomatoes, and cheddar, topped with tomato gravy and scallions. Big portion, but still lacked flavor. It came with tossed greens on the side, which I didn’t expect and wouldn’t have picked. I would’ve rather had fries or fruit.
Overall, not a bad place, just not something I’d go out of my way for. The food looked better than it tasted. I’d rather stick to smaller breakfast spots that are more consistent...
