Maybe it was from the visit, but it seemed overrated. Waitress did get to us pretty fast; unfortunately, she didn't remember our order at all. I understand being experienced in a field; but it's odd to confidently take an order without a notepad; then get the order completely wrong. I've worked in this field before. If I don't remember something, I'd rather double check with a table than phone it in. Seemed lazy to me. Also, it's a hotdog and fries. We didn't see it worth complaining over nor sending back. Apparently, she didn't see it worth double checking either.
I ordered a standard hotdog with a slight customization; no mustard, no sauerkraut. I also ordered onion rings. My friend ordered three hotdogs and fries. We both ended up with standard hotdogs and fries; none of our customizations were applied at all. He only got one hotdog, the other two didn't seem to be there. The toppings I requested to not be there were there. I didn't get onion rings, I got fries. One or two mistakes, sure. But, three is just blatant disregard for a table you took an order from. The hotdogs were a sort of radioactive bright red with a white-centered core. It was a little off-putting. Chili was decent. The steak fries were okay too. Bread was a little too toasted. I trusted the high reviews and recommendations; but I think I was wrong today.
On top of that, the pricing was a bit ridiculous. 5 dollars for a hotdog and basically 5 dollars for fries- another 3 for a drink. Basically paid $15 with the tip included for a decent hotdog and fries. I understand that it's supposedly an "elevated" form of the hotdog and fries combo; or at least they think it is. That's why the prices are higher than you'd expect from a ballpark or real hole-in-the-wall establishment, but it simply isn't worth what it's advertising itself to be. The fact that there isn't a "default" combo either is a bit weird too. Paying separate prices for fries and a hotdog is strange.

Read moreThese people are so rude! They weren't even open on a Sunday and I was going to eat here but decided to try the place next door and go to the inn the next day. I am new to the area and had no idea where to park, the parking is crazy. But, I parked in their empty lot to just go grab a to go order from the place next door and he tells me that I can't park there and called the restaurant next door because I did. They explained where I could go park so I moved to make them happy. Very rude if you ask me, especially since the parking was empty since they were closed. I have changed my mind about trying the Dew drop inn based on this experience. Had they needed the parking, I would have understood alot more. I guess he didn't know I was thinking about trying their restaurant. But, if you can treat someone that way, I wouldn't want to eat at the place. It's called southern hospitality. I can't say anything about the food but seems like rude people to me. I seen another review saying they are mean spirited because they chain off the lot on Sundays when closed, and that is very rude! Why not allow it if you aren't even open? Speaks alot on the character...
