Taco Mama - Midtown Mobile — Restaurant in Mobile

THIS is my new "Most Favorite restaurant!!!! And the one that got bumped out had been there approximately 18-20 years!!!!

The service was above and beyond and trust me, that is RARE lately with nobody wanting to work....it's WORSE THAN before Covid. And IMO, counter service usually equals subpar quality restaurant service. Well let me say....TACO MAMA has it figured out!!!!! Fast counter(ordering) along with being Super helpful and being excitedly patient because this was our first visit. Then (despite us hitting during their lunch rush) our food was brought out we were blown away!!!! We had already been 👁 eyeing other tables orders and I i was secretly disappointed i hadn't ordered the nachos that out "next door" table had. But our orders looked even better!!!!!

Now, as far as the ACTUAL FOOD.........IT WAS SOOOOOO good. The chips and dip were delicious too. I'm not going to tell you what to order because EVERYTHING was beyond good!!!! We ordered 3 entrées (which came with salsa and chips) and drinks. More than 2 of us could eat (we love take homes).

**Also just as a "tip". You can leave a tip in one of 3 ways.

1. when u order at the counter u can leave it on your ticket (paying cash, credit or debit).
2. you can leave it on your table when you leave (there ARE trash cans and bins for dishes as you depart). There are employees constantly helping by picking up dishes you no longer need, refilling a cup(or feel free to do this yourself), sweeping and they are ALWAYS WIPING TABLES AND COMMON AREAS 3)the final way I saw to leave a MUCH DESERVED tip (And the way we chose) was to hand it to one of the ladies who had assisted me getting my drink refilled and carried back to our table. She said they have a "tip bucket" at the counter and would gladly put it in there.

I was actually in town for follow up Dr visit due to major emergency knee surgery . And the whole crew was super helpful and accommodating. And...

We went to Taco Mama as part of my nieces 21st birthday Celebration. This was our first visit. There were 7 of us in attendance. My thirteen years old niece did not order anything. She said she wasn't hungry. I, along with one of my sisters, am a vegan. The others are vegetarians. I ordered the veggie mix on a burrito with corn, avocado and a side of chipotle sweet corn. I could not get rice on it, because the rice was cilantro-lime rice. I don't like cilantro and there wasn't a plain rice option. I ordered my three years old nephew a cheese quesadilla. It came stuck together on a pile of chips. I had to pull them apart from being stuck on top of the other. He was hungry and seemed to like it. The others seemed to be content with their orders as well. I did not like mine. I only ate a few bites. None of the items were large enough for the cost associated. However, the cashier where we placed the order was helpful in helping us to decide what to get or at least explaining what the items were. The atmosphere was laid back. There were two televisions on and tuned to a football game. There were concrete slab floors, wooden tables and heavy aluminum chairs. There was a tip jar at the register. I left a tip. It was a new experience. It was the place my niece chose. Again, she seemed content with her order. That's the...

As employees of an ER staff from USA trying to purchase good food in a fast pace environment we only have one time to get it right...we frequently have ordered pick up orders from here and the first order was AMAZING! Usually they put all toppings on the side, however I asked for mine to be cooked inside and it was great. Our third and FINAL experience our food was sloppy, cold, I didn't even have enough cheese to hold my quesadilla together, not to mention we paid EXTRA for extra! When we called to complain, the manager TONY was VERY RUDE! We tried to explain to him due to us being at lunch we don't have time for the order to be correct. Tony immediately dismissed me and said "the owner will be here tomorrow" I will be contacting the owner on tomorrow 04/22/19. 04/23/19 UPDATE!!! Called back today and spoke with owner Hunter who was AWESOME! We picked up the order from manager Will who made sure all our orders were fresh and SATISFYING...WE ARE NOW THE BIGGEST FAN OF TACO MAMA...THANKS...
