We called in ahead of time. we were seated fairly Quick. all before 7 PM. We knew we wanted a HH mini pizza with only a few mins before HH ended. with plenty of time no one came to our table for a good 10 to 15 minutes. A couple few mins past 7 PM a manager seems to be walking by, he asked if we had been greeted by our server yet to which I told him no we have not. he then asked if we wanted drinks or if we were ready to order I proceeded to tell him about wanting to share a mini deep dish from the happy hour menu, but wasn’t sure because it was a couple minutes past seven. Annoyed he sort of shrugged his shoulders and said if the system would let him he could maybe do that for us I continued to order bevs & my son’s kids meal and told him we would take one of the mini deep dish pizzas he said OK and began to walk away. I grabbed his attention and asked him if the mini deep dish pizzas were only for a specific one (Because he did not question what sort of pizza we wanted) He then backtracked and said no you can get anyone and realize he had an asked us which one. anyway our server yet to come to our table for approx another 10 minutes. Catherine, finally came to our table. She said she noticed us talking to the manager and asked if we had placed our order or if we wanted to order anything else. Nonchalantly said sorry about the wait. We were still OK at that point. That’s when our pizza and my son’s kids meal had arrived. She walked away as the food runner was handing us our food so I didn’t get a chance to ask her for ketchup or that my son didn’t like the drink and we wanted to switch it. I should also note that the AP at BJ’s taste disgusting. The food runner was very nice but Catherine didn’t check back with us for maybe another 10 mins then one of the meals we ordered, a crispy Jalapeño burger Came out she did ask if we needed anything else but walked away as we looked around the table and said no,didn’t really have a chance to mention anything else realizing we still had not asked her about swapping out the drink. It was too late she had walked away. Maybe our fault. But still I wanted to place a second entrée order and she never came back for maybe another 15mins+ to either check on our food or offer refills, but I was able to catch her to order a second entrée for a crispy, jalapeño burger, sub, crispy, chicken. same thing, she took our order walked away, no time to say much. The worst part of the night was waiting approx 45 mins-1hr for my chx sandwich.in that entire time she did not come back, not once at all as a matter of fact, she walked by our table and we tried to catch her attention and she completely ignored us and would look the opposite way. I realized maybe she was too embarrassed because my food was not out yet, but not once did she come out and apologize or said hey let me go check on your food or anything of that sort so we waited and waited. She was taking other people‘s orders. Their food was coming out before mine. she would not look our way at all. Finally, she comes to our table to let us know she’s done for the night and if we need anything else, we can ask Lauren. that Lauren was going to be taking care of us. “but let me go check on your food” didn’t even make eye contact with me, and immediately after walked away. didn’t give us a single second this time to ask her anything at all. She then came back with my sandwich AND WALKED AWAY! Lauren then came to introduce herself, very lovely. I kindly asked her if she could please check this sandwich because it was not what I had ordered. sure enough Catherine brought out the wrong one. a Cal Chx?! this review is strictly for Catherine’s poor, or lack of service. We felt very discriminated against. Maybe she thought we weren’t going to Tip her? Lauren was kind enough to get the chx sandwich removed from my Bill. we had been there for 1hr 1/2 Our bill came out to $43.07 and we tipped Lauren, $20. It was the last few minutes and she didn’t have to do much. Catherine needs better training or perhaps a new job. Ty...
Read moreI’ll start out by saying I have always loved BJ’s. I enjoy the atmosphere, the service is usually good, and of course I enjoy a couple of good beers while I’m there. Bottom line, you know what to expect when you go here. We decided to go to lunch with the family and BJ’s was the destination. Normally I, like I said, I know exactly what to expect. We checked in online, arrived, waited a short 10 minutes maximum and were seated in a large booth. A+ everything’s going well. Our server was a very friendly young lady, none of this is her fault. She took our drink orders, and we ordered appetizers. We waited maybe 10 minutes and drinks came out for us and the kiddos. Check, good to go still. About 25 to 30 minutes past and one of the two appetizers, the nachos with brisket, came out along with all three of the kids meals. (I don’t recommend these, hardly any meat and came very dry and bland) Anyway, I thought oh sweet, she was on it to have the kids meals early, thanks! Not three minutes behind that here comes my wife’s meal and my meal. I was a little taken back by this, there’s no way I would’ve ordered an appetizer had we known it was going to come out at the same time as our meals, Not to mention, we still have not received the avocado eggrolls. When the server came back, we got another round of drinks, and I told her hey, our avocado eggrolls never came out, and it’s kind of weird that the appetizers came out at the same time as all of the meals. She looked at me, apologized, and said I’m gonna ask the manager to come speak to you. I said OK. I mean I didn’t ask for a manager, but that’s fine, I was OK with speaking to the manager to explain the situation. A solid 10 minutes passes, she comes back asks if I want the avocado egg rolls, of course I don’t, and then she asked me if the manager had come by. I responded. No I have not seen the manager yet. She said OK I’m going to go tell them again to come over here. I said OK thank you that would be nice. Another 10 minutes passes and here comes the server. She looks at me and says the manager said we can go ahead and take a couple of items off and give you a free dessert. This is what irritates me the most. I saw no one on the floor resembling a manager for the entire hour and a half we were in the restaurant. She had asked this person to come forward twice to speak to a customer. Clearly whoever the manager was on Saturday, July 29 was too lazy and preoccupied with other things than to talk to a customer. Absolutely horrendous customer service. This manager should’ve come out and spoken to myself and my wife, the way they were asked to. You don’t put an employee in the situation to have to play middleman. I was so disappointed and absolutely irritated by the lack of concern and pure laziness of the manager. I doubt we will return anytime soon. This is the second straight bad service experience I’ve had in BJ’s in the...
Read moreTook my oldest daughter out to eat for lunch at BJs accross from vintage faire mall in Modesto. Atmosphere was great, it has a very modern look and at first sight looks like a nice place to eat. I also liked how it wasn’t busy yet, so they seated each party far apart so that you feel like you have a bit more privacy during your meal. We were greeted and seated right away however the person seated us at a dirty table and just effortlessly brushed the crumbs with one swipe of the back of her hand witch did nothing, the crumbs were still there and the table clearly had not been cleaned yet. She walked away and did not come back so we cleaned the table ourselves. Then we noticed the nasty hand smears and splashes of food all over the side wall of the booth and dirty food splashes in the main isle which looked like something has slashed on the floor and it had sat there long enough to collect some dark dirt and dry up. It all gave a very dirty feeling to the environment. This unsanitary vibe was again confirmed when I found a dark, thick, course hair inside my filly cheesesteak sandwich. Unfortunately I had already eaten almost 1/2 the sandwich before noticing the hair inside the bun at the end. It ruined my appetite for the rest of the sandwich. I did not complain about it, as I don’t like doing that in public and figured I’d just give the rest of the sandwich to my dogs. The waiter who took our orders was great. He came back often to refill our drinks and to check if we needed anything. However by the time we needed the check and carry out boxes, he was no where to be found. Other waitresses and waiters walked by and looked at us several times but said nothing. I thought maybe he went on his lunch break. Eventually 30 minutes later another waitress comes up to us and asks if we need anything. I said we would like the check and a carry out bag but I’m not sure where our waiter went. She said oh I’m sorry, he had to leave, he didn’t tell you before he left? I said no he didn’t, we’ve just been waiting here for him to give us the check. I would say they both dropped the ball on that one. He should have let his tables know he was leaving and another waitress would be over shortly. The other waitress should have let us know she would be taking over and asked if we needed anything, not waited 30 minutes to approach our table. She was very nice and offered to give the pazookie we ordered to us for free for the inconvenience. Overall the food tasted great despite the hair and the service was friendly but the lack of cleanliness of the environment and the unsanitary hair in my food just killed it for me. I can’t find myself...
