My girlfriend went through the drive-thru on Saturday, 07/29/2023. She ordered 20 chicken nuggets and asked for three ranch dipping sauces and three bbq dipping sauces (mind you, I was on the phone with her when this was occurring).. The total came to $31.54. First off, I was astounded at the price for 20 gd nuggets. If one does the math, that’s $1.57 per nugget. She was then given the bag with her order and she drove home. When she opened the bag, it contained the nuggets and seven bbq sauces (see photo)..not three bbq and three ranch as she requested. I told her to contact them and let them know of their screwup. After calling them, she drove back to the location and walked inside to get the three ranch sauces. She said the employee, Scott W., asked her if she brought the bbq sauces back. She replied no, with a puzzled look (and thought to herself, why would an eating establishment ask for bbq sauce containers back?? Would they have served them to someone else?? Not even knowing if they had become contaminated or not?? The thought of asking for them back boggles my mind).. Scott W. reaffirmed what he had asked her, placed two ranch sauces on the counter and told her, “Yes, we normally charge for these” but was “nice enough” to not charge her (for sauces she had already paid for and not received).. What the AF is wrong with customer service in today’s age?? Everyone wants small businesses supported. It’s difficult to subscribe to that when this is the service one receives. This is the second time in about 30 days that I’ve had an absolutely ridiculous and almost laughable experience at local fast-food restaurants with regard to orders being incorrect and absurd customer service by team members and eatery management. $32 for 20 mediocre nuggets. And then almost $1.00 a piece for the sauce??? Insane. They’re lucky they dealt with my gf and not me. I have way less...
Read moreI am so saddened by chicken barn on McHenry one of our favorite places to eat, my wife asked me to stop by and pick up a lil farmer combo with macaroni and cheese instead of the soft drink for the little one. This a meal my wife orders all the time, but tonight I wanted in the drive up line for almost one hour ( see picture ) the line was all the way to the back side of chicken barn so I decided to set the timer ⏱ to see how long it would take. So when I ordered the meal the lady said that they cannot change the soda for the Mac & cheese, I told her that my wife orders that meal all that way all the time so I asked to ask her manager, she did and he said no!! At that time I was in the drive up line for a little over 30 minutes I already was getting restless and bored and that made me mad 😡 so out of principle I told him that’s OK I want to leave now and she said well you have to wait in line because there’s no way to get out.🤬So I had to wait, when I finally got to the window I showed her my timer how long I had to wait For a meal my wife orders all the time, all I got out of this lady is sorry and a long stare. You can’t go in to order meals anymore and so they know you are setting in the drive up line with no way to get out and leave. I think the fast food restaurants lost that customer service and now it’s all about money 💰 then most of the time the drive up to go orders are wrong and that’s another up problem 🤬. Not to sure if chicken barn on McHenry will be getting my business and if I have it my way the company I work for their business and we order a lot of chicken for our Company lunches. I ended up at Burger King ordered their chicken nuggets and french fries and thankfully it was a hit and a little change from a...
Read moreI do not review places because I truly believe that each place has good and bad things about them. But! I have been coming to The Chicken Barn for years and most recently decided to go in for dinner with my family. The first impression was that the restaurant has not been deep cleaned I. A VERY long time. We ordered and they were out of chicken breast. For a place that serves chicken only that should have been the flag to leave. But we were there and kids were hungry. Ordered and sat downs. The drinks were horrible with lots of chlorine. When I saw the food splattered all over the walls and how filthy it was I decided this was not a good idea. I asked the cashier before they made my order to give me my money back so we could eat someone else. The Manager came over pointed at a sign and said no refunds. I asked for her managers contact information so I could call them and she refused to provide me with any contact information. I was told to Google it. I said I wanted some kind of context information and she again refused. When I said I wouldn’t leave without some kind of contact information she told me that I could stand there and look dumb. She then proceeded to call the owner and would not do anything else for me. They NEVER offered me the food or money so basically I was robbed by The Chicken Barn. I do plan to seek further help with the city, county, health department, and possibly a lawyer because I know I am not the only person who has experienced this horrible treatment by their horrid staff...
