La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Modesto

Rachel J.’s Reviews 1.0 star rating I have been buying food at La Parrilla a few times recently. Today, went inside to order takeout for myself and my mother. I asked for a Build Your Own with two main items (that come with rice and beans):

1. Beef Enchilada and Sopita,
2. Beef Enchilada and Tostada. Once I got home, I discovered that I had received only one Enchilada. I called La Parrilla and spoke with the manager. The Manager apologized while emphasizing that I wasn't charged for the second Enchilada. I emphasized that I wanted two Enchiladas for each dish with the other two main items. She asked if the person who took my order read it back to me and I said that I don't recall whether or not she did, but I specified exactly what I wanted. Early in my conversation with the manager, I told her that the last time I ordered food for two people I had only received the accompanying side dish of rice for one person instead of two (although I paid for a two meat meal for two people - The Fajita Special). The manager told me that she will talk to the individual that took my order and left it at that. I was not happy to hear that the only thing she was going to do was speak with the employee about today's order. She ignored what I told her about the last situation that I said that I looked over (rice for one instead of two, which I paid for). Emphasizing not being overcharged wasn't the issue, but not receiving all that I asked for was and still is the problem. The lack of customer service and dissatisfaction was what I got today over my lunch...

Very rude service and they lied about some items being mild when i asked before ordering- the people at the table next to us even said they order that specific item because they know it is extra spicy and they love hot food. The staff just kept arguing it is not spicy even though other customers agree it is hot, I said well could I at least have a menu and order something different then and I'll pay? The original server did apologize but it was the manager who came over and was instead wanting a full on argument over the food and another server backing her up. Like how about next time if someone asks then at least tell them "some people do consider this food spicy even though we think it is on the mild side" that way people know the truth. It was definitely too spicy for me and was choking on it and couldn't eat it. I've eaten food here before that actually was mild and this time it wasn't. I won't come back though bcuz of how they treated me and I'm never one to yell or be mean to staff. This is the first time I didn't tip at a restaurant before and wrote on the reciept "you know what you did". 🤷🏽‍♀️ There's plenty of other great Mexican restaurants who are nice to customers and will tell you if mild, medium or spicy...

It was good.. Maybe the time I went,the service wasn't as good (lunch time) waiters wasn't as Attentive as other times I went.. and was given the wrong food 3 times.. and once I was done eating.. I had paid with my card.. and left a cash tip (Even though the service wasn't as good) I had check my statement 2 days later and Seen that they had charged me $10 more.. I had checked my receipt (I Always ask and keep my receipts for this reason) and Even though I left a Cash tip they charged me extra for a tip I NEVER Approved for 👎Major Disappointment, I had called the restaurant and told and explained the incident and told them I have my receipt and left a cash tip. So they will refund me the amount and will look into.. Who had Charged the extra without my permission. So.. Word of advice.. Always Ask for your Receipts.. and Check them either that day or the next to see if anyone had charged extra without your permission. I am Now Hesitant on doing business with them Now. Yes it might be a small amount but makes you think 🤔 How many times have they done...
