The year was 2006 maybe 2007, anywho I'd just exited the freeway from a hour drive from Sacramento and an exhausting 12 hour day at the office. I was tired and hungry and I saw Togo's like a gleam of light in my darkness of hunger and exhaustion. Almost instantly I decided to stop in. Upon arriving everything was fine there were customers and busy workers and I ordered my sandwich. I don't recall which sandwich I ordered but I remember being very excited watching them prepare it. Here's where the story gets interesting: suddenly and for absolutely no reason I began to feel intoxicated and unsteady. I asked the lady at the person at the counter if I could pay for my sandwich now so I gave her $20 and things began to get blurry and I began to lose control of my my legs I was swaying and falling I couldn't stay up right I was having a very difficult time so I decided to step out and try and get some fresh air.. FLASH: the next thing I know I'm in my car in the parking lot. FLASH: someone is yelling at me to "stop Please STOP!! " FLASH; The police and firemen are there FLASH: I'm in the ambulance FLASH: I come to in the hospital in an upright position strapped to a bed like Hannibal Lecter. Mouthpiece and all.
Apparently I had suffered a seizure right there at Togo's. So after being released from the hospital and recovering from my injuries, logically I returned to Togo's (for my sandwich) or my money so I could order a new sandwich. (Hey! I don't judge me) I risked my life for that sandwich. Those but Togonians refused to give me my money or give my freaking sandwich.
So yes I am very upset with Togo's on Standiford in Modesto California you cheated me out of my money and I didn't get my sandwich and it's years later and yeah I'm still mad so there. I can give you negative one star but it's...
Read moreI'm heading home with my sandwiches right now. In all honesty, I'm pretty frugal so I usually only order here on Sunday's when I can get a turkey and avocado (mmm, my favorite!) for the daily special price of $6 including a drink. As I said before, I'm frugal but today also quite hungry so I asked BEFORE ordering how much the daily special would be with a large sandwich instead. The lady informed that it would be $2 extra per sandwich (I ordered 2). When she began ringing me up she reminded me not to forget to get my chips and I said, "oh, no thank you." The daily deal menu says $6 for a sandwich and drink, $1 extra for chips, and the $2 large up charge isn't listed which is why I asked. She said once you upgrade to a large you're required to get chips. First of all, that sounds highly incorrect and secondly, since I took the time to ask prices before hand it would have been nice to have been made aware of that. I asked her to try to ring it up without chips (since they are specifically stated as $1 extra on the menu) but she refused. I can't imagine that Togo's policy is to require a chip purchase when making your sandwich meal a large but if it is, that's a bummer. I feel more frustrated by the customer service. Simply, letting me know that I'd be spending extra while I was inquiring about prices would have allowed me to make the decision and not be stuck with something I didn't want after the fact. Not happy by this recent visit but still love the turkey...
Read moreCRAP! anyone who says they have had "Good service" here was obviously really hungry &/or has zero self respect! NO one greets you and if they do it's the laziest, unwelcoming, noise that doesn't sound friendly in the least. And your only lucky to get that if your next in line. You all but don't exist if you Second or more. The best part was waiting in a line for close to 20 minutes watching people leave without sandwiches because only AFTER the food was made they were telling people the Credit Card lines were down. Which looks sketchy, rude, and unprofessional. Trust me when I tell you I left with the guy behind me to Subway. It wasn't as good but HELL they were human and treated...
