Capy's Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Moncks Corner

Always have been a regular here at Capys- would dine in for lunch and dinner at least two times a month as well as take out. The food was always delicious and service great. This past time was not good at all from the food to the service. When we sat down to order, we wanted to order the meatballs and arancini. Our waitress Mia said those were not available anymore. No worries, went ahead and ordered the entree and a Caesar salad. Mia comes back and says they ran out of romaine lettuce and asked if we wanted to do the mesclun mix instead. Ordered the salad with the mesclun mix and chicken as well as calamari without the Parmesan cheese on top. The calamari comes out with the cheese on top and Mia apologizes and brings it back to the kitchen. A new plate of calamari was brought back. When I looked at it, the breading didn’t even stick to the greasy pieces of calamari and they were like rubber bands. When we ask for a take out box for our entree Mia asked if the calamari was chewy. We said yes and I proceeded to show her how I couldn’t even rip one of the calamari rings because they were that rubbery. She said “oh wow we’ve been having issues all day with the calamari”. She said let me bring it back and see if they can take it off. When she comes back with the check, the calamari was still on there. When asked to have it taken off she said she already talked to the owner in the back and he didn’t say it could be taken off. We paid for an appetizer that was clearly frozen calamari and couldn’t even eat a piece without spitting it into my napkin. The fact that management never came over once yet walked past our table several times to clear tables near us shows the lack of customer service and care for the quality of food they are putting out. If other tables were having issues all day with calamari like Mia had said, clearly this is a chef issue and should be addressed. Will definitely not...

The food, drinks, atmosphere, music, and happy hour were all great but what really stood apart from the rest was our server, Julie. She was simply outstanding. She greeted us at the front door as if she were the hostess then proceeded to take our order and serve us through out the remainder of our dining experience. Everything was perfectly timed, nothing was missed (and we had although minor alterations to the menu items, they could be easily missed by other servers) she didnt forget a single thing and to top it all off she was also single handedly taking care of multiple other tables, and seating them as well! I was BLOWN away when she said she was still in highschool working at her families restaurant. Ive worked in the F&B industry for many years, at many high volume restaurants around the country and her service was Impeccable! The girls going places be it running the family restaurant one day or running the show whereever she goes, she was wonderful! We got the meatballs & Calamari Fritti, for entrees we did salad, penne ala vodka with grilled chicken and eggplant parm and it was all fantastic, but we left with several boxes bc the portions are generous! The fresh baked bread for the table was just the bees knees! We are new to Moncks corner and had been wanting to check out Capy's. It reminds me of being in a small, family run cafe in italy, and thus, we will definitely...

Yessss! Y’all… Moncks Corner has an incredible Italian bistro! From the moment we walked in we were excited. Beautiful atmosphere (such a vibe!), wonderful service, and the foooooood. Y’all the fooood!!!! REAL Italian dishes like the ones I grew up on in NY surrounded by so many quality Italian restaurants and lovely Italian friends and families. As soon as we sat we were greeted by soft on the inside, crusty on the outside Italian bread served on a wood board with a delicious EVO&spices. Calamari to start =amazing! Next up? Caesar salad that was soooo tasty. Classic chicken Parmesan for my entree and ohhhhh let me tell you about that marinara sauce… actually words won’t do it justice! You MUST go find out for yourself! My husband had the lasagna (serious lasagna lover and critic) and said it was the BEST he’s ever had! We wrapped it up with the tiramisu, which was rich, scrumptious, and huge! We haven’t been this excited about a new restaurant in a while, and how blessed are we to have Capy’s right around the corner from our home in MC! Can’t wait to return!
