The Barony House — Restaurant in Moncks Corner

Not impressed. Went to visit for Thanksgiving. Was expecting a Tradition Dinner. Turkey was consistency of "pulled pork", not sliced and it was mushy. "String Beans" were basically chopped green beans from a can, Roast Beef and green beans were extremely salty not to mention Broccoli Salad was more or less a Soup due to being extremely watered down. I poured more than half of the water out. Watched as other around us was brought food even though we ordered before them. Check out was extremely unorganized. People were coming in the Exit door, cutting in line to pick up to go food, cashier was consistently walking to kitchen and holding up check out. Plus the line to pay was literally cutting off people from looking at deserts as well as blocking a walk way for patrons eating at center table. Several several ceiling lights were blown out and air vents were dirty. As a previous Restaurant/Bar Manager/Controller I notice these things and share my experiences to hopefully...

The food was pretty good and the portion size was ok. The prices were a bit steep in my opinion. Those prices were for dinner. The gravy tasted like it came from a packet mix, the mashed potatoes were not seasoned well and the aged sirloin certainly didn't have good seasoning. It was $22 or $24 for the meal before taxes or tip. Once we received our bill we realized it cost more than if we would've went to our favorite Japanese restaurant and had dinner, sushi, drinks and had food leftover to bring home. We brought 3/4 of my dinner home from the Barony House and fed it to our pups. My husband sliced the steak, added seasonings and heated it up and it was much better. I used to eat at the Barony House a lot when I worked years ago but it was only for lunch. I always enjoyed my food back then. Desserts: the highlight of the entire meal was the triple chocolate cake and the carrot cake. If we were to go back again at dinner time we would only do coffee...

4 of us went to dinner. The crab dip was very good. Drunken mushrooms ok. Everyone else said there dinner was ok. Mine was baked salmon. DO NOT order this. It came out floating in a dish of fake butter and oil. YUCK. One bite and NO taste just this nasty feeling in my mouth. SLIME.... By the time the waiter came back everyone else was within a few bites of being done. He asked if I wanted a box. Ugh no thank you. He did not ask what was wrong so I politely explained no apologies. He did offer to get me something else but everyone else was almost done. And by this time (5:50) they had started some very noisy trivia. In a restaurant weird...... He did take my dinner off the check. Would have given one star but the crab dip was good. Everyone said there dinner was ok but nothing special. Wish it had been better was...
